particular group and 40 hours' advance notice of change is not provided prior to change to new shift; 24 hours' notice prior to returning to original shift. Time and one-quarte for work on Sundays. Double time for work on normal off days. $0.75 per hour for employees whose normal work, exclusive of overtime, is continuously conducted on regular 8-hour shifts starting between 1 p.m. and 1 a.m. on following day. $0.42 per hour for afternoon shift. $1.20 per hour for night shift. $0.50 for each hour paid (previously $0.35 per hour) for employees who, because of job requirements, have recognized certificate of apprenticeship or current trade license issued by Province of Ontario. Paid holidays: 10 days. Vacations with pay: 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 2 years, 4 weeks after 8 years, 5 weeks after 16 years, 6 weeks after 22 years. Overtime: Double time after 8 hours per day. Employees who have worked at least 8-hour overtime shift will have option of selecting one-half of total hours as lieu instead of pay- ment, maximum 80 hours per year. Lieu hours must be taken in full days and must be taken no later than March 31 of fol- lowing year. Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for Ontario Health Insurance Plan; extended healthcare plan. Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Coverage of 100% for preventative services, peri- odontal, endodontic services; 50% for prosthetic services, orthodontic services (maxi- mum $4,000 lifetime maximum per employee, dependant), ma- jor restorative services (maxi- mum $2,500 lifetime maximum per employee, dependant). Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums for maximum $450 every 2 years for eye glasses, eye exams, corrective laser surgery. Paramedical: Combined maxi- mum $1,000 per year for phys- iotherapy, chiropractor; $500 for massage therapy. STD: Employer pays 100% of premiums. AD&D: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums for coverage of 2 times annual basic salary. Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 2 times annual basic salary; 4 times annual salary for death in line of duty. Pension: All employees, if eli- gible, must become members of Toronto Transit Commis- sion Pension Fund Society after 6 months of continuous service. Bereavement leave: 4 days for death of employee's spouse, children, stepchildren. 3 days for death of parents, steppar- ents, sister, brother, father-in- law, mother-in-law, grandpar- ents, grandchild. Seniority – recall rights: 12 months from last date of layoff. Call-in pay: Double time if em- ployees are called out for emer- gency work 4 hours or more after normal finishing time and continue to work on emergency work for all hours worked until normal starting time. Probationary period: 10 months of continuous service. If employee changes sections during initial 10-month proba- tionary period, employee will be on probation for 8 months in addition to time spent on pro- bation to date of change. Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years (all disciplinary records for any period between 2 to 5 years will only be relied on when alleged misconduct would not fall within normal circumstances). All discipline records will not be retained after such period as prescribed by law. Safety shoes: $160 per year (after 12 months of service) for signal technicians, overhead linespersons, wiring and ser- vice electricians, substation technicians, cable and tele- phone technicians. 2 vouchers of $160 per year for electrical assistants, electrical appren- tices. May be carried over to following year. Uniforms/clothing: Employ- ees will be provided with $264 per year open voucher to ob- tain pre-selected work-clothing items from designated sup- plier: long-sleeve shirt overalls, short-sleeve shirt smock (for overalls), work pants, machin- ist coat, coveralls, cloth parka, T-shirt, blue jeans, lined flannel pants, winter-weight coveralls, winter-weight overalls, sweat- shirts. Clothing purchased must be 100% cotton. Voucher will be issued every 4 years for orange-cloth parka to em- ployees in communications cable crew, overhead crews, signal technicians, wiring and service surface, wiring and service subway, substations crews work groups, SCADA technicians (employee may se- lect winter-weight coveralls or winter-weight overalls in lieu of orange-cloth parka). 3 vouch- ers per year for cleaning of maintenance parkas, coveralls, overalls will be issued to each employee. Rubber coats, rub- ber boots, hats will be provided for emergency crews when necessary.
