7 Canadian HR Reporter, a Thomson Reuters business 2018 CANADIAN LABOUR REPORTER COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS MARINE PILOTAGE Pacific Pilotage Authority Canada Vancouver (35 launch masters, launch engineers, shore engineers, small-vessel machinery operator, officers in training) and the Canadian Merchant Service Guild (CMSG) Renewal agreement: Effec- tive April 1, 2018, to March 31, 2023. Signed on Aug. 13, 2018. Wage adjustments: Effective April 1, 2018: 2.9% + 0.3% Effective April 1, 2019: 2% or Vancouver CPI Effective April 1, 2020: 1.61% or Vancouver CPI Effective April 1, 2021: 1.61% or Vancouver CPI Effective April 1, 2022: 1.61% or Vancouver CPI Shift premium: One-half hour of pay for any shift where employer-owned launch is not carrying fourth-class engineer or higher, officers on shift change lube oil filters or lube oil or carry out repairs to main engines, generators, water-jets (excluding clearing debris) or ancillary equipment (such as sewage pumps, bilge pumps). Paid holidays: 12 days. Vacations with pay: 3 weeks or 6% to start, 4 weeks or 8% after 6 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 12 years, 6 weeks or 12% after 18 years, 7 weeks or 14% after 24 years. Overtime: Double time for all work after regular hours. Double time when officer works in relief of another officers on non-scheduled work day. May be converted to compensatory leave. Double time for all work after 7.5 hours per day or 37.5 hours per week for shore engi- neers. Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for B.C. Medicare Plan. $400 per year for health and wellness account. Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums. 100% coverage for basic services, prosthetic appli- ances, crowns and bridges. 80% coverage for orthodontics. Sick leave: 1.25 days per month, maximum 365 sea days. LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Bereavement leave: 4 days for death in immediate family (father, mother, brother, sister, spouse, child, father-in-law, mother-in-law, relative resid- ing in officer's household). 3 additional days for travel, if required. 1 day for death of grandparents, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in- law, sister-in-law, grandchild. Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours at overtime rate. Probationary period: 6 months for officers. Severance: For first layoff, 3 weeks' pay for first year of ser- vice, 1 week's pay for each addi- tional year of service, maximum 31 weeks' pay. For second and subsequent layoffs, 1 week's pay for each year of service, maxi- mum 30 weeks' pay. Uniforms/clothing: $300 per year for authorized work cloth- ing. Each officer will be sup- plied with U-Vic (or equivalent) floater coat. Sunglasses: $150 every 2 years for anti-glare sunglasses. Marine disaster: Maximum $1,000 when officer suf- fers loss of clothing or personal effects because of marine disaster or shipwreck. Northern allowance: $50 per month for all officers employed aboard Prince Rupert pilot vessel. HOSPITALITY Holiday Inn Edmonton (40 supervisors, attendants, cleaners, hosts, servers, maintenance personnel) and Unite Here, Local 47 Renewal agreement: Effective Feb. 1, 2017, to Jan. 31, 2022. Ratified on Dec. 15, 2017. Signed on April 24, 2018. Paid holidays: 10 days. Vacations with pay: 4% to start, 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 15 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 44 hours per week. Time and one-half for all work on sixth or seventh day. Double time for all work after 12 hours per day. Medical benefits: Employer pays 80% of premiums, em- ployee pays 20% of premiums for employees hired before Feb. 2, 2002. Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums for employees hired after Feb. 2, 2002. Dental: 80% coverage for basic, preventative. 50% coverage for major, orthodontics (lifetime maximum $1,500 per child). Combined maximum $1,500 per year. Vision: $100 every 24 months. Paramedical: Maximum $500. Maximum $1,000 per year for clinical psychology, speech therapy. Sick leave: 4 days per year, after 1 year of service. Unused days will be paid out at end of year at 50% rate. AD&D: Coverage of $25,000 (previously $20,000). Life insurance: Coverage of $25,000 (previously $20,000). Pension: Employer will make matching RRSP contributions, maximum $400 per year, for employee with 5 or more years of service. Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (mother, father, spouse, partner, son, daughter, brother, sister, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandchildren, grandparents, stepchildren, stepparents). Seniority – recall rights: 12 months. Call-in pay: Pay for actual hours worked if call-in is less than 2 hours after completion of regular shift. Minimum 3 hours of pay if call-in is more than 2 hours after completion of regular shift. Probationary period: 60 days. Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months. Uniforms/clothing: Employer will furnish, launder, clean and keep in repair all required uni- forms. For outside work, em- ployer will provide appropriate rain or winter apparel such as parkas or raincoats, safety boots for winter and summer.
