Shift premium: $0.50 per hour above highest rate in depart- ment providing lead-person is qualified on highest-rated job in department or level 4, which- ever is higher for lead-persons. $0.35 per hour ($0.52 per hour for overtime; $0.70 per hour for double time) for employees who work between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. Paid holidays: 10 days. Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 10 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 20 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Dou- ble time for all work on Sunday or day designated as employee's Sunday. Meal allowance: $10 when employee works after 10 or 12 hours and 7 minutes. Medical benefits: Employer will pay 100% of Alberta Health Care and Sun Life premiums af- ter 3 months of employment. Dental: $2,000 per year (previ- ously $1,500 per year) maxi- mum coverage for all services. $1,500 per lifetime (previously $1,000 per year) maximum cov- erage for orthodontics. Vision: $250 maximum per em- ployee, employee's spouse and children every 2 years. Includes eye exams. LTD: Maximum $1,800 per month. Pension: Employer will provide payroll-administered group RRSP. Bereavement leave: 4 days for death in immediate family (par- ent, stepparent, parent-in-law, spouse, child, stepchild, ward, sibling, stepsibling, sibling-in- law). 1 day for death of grand- parent, spouse's grandparent. Seniority – recall rights: 2 years. Probationary period: 60 days worked. Discipline: Sunset clause is 1 year for individual disciplinary decisions; 2 years for work-rule violations. Uniforms/clothing: Employer will furnish rubber boots, rub- ber aprons, rubber gloves. Em- ployer will provide maximum 2 cooler-jackets per year for ship- ping employees. Tool allowance: Employer will provide tools, equipment necessary to perform jobs safely including mechanics' hand tools. Employer will provide employee to sharpen knives. Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after increase): Production Starting: $17.95 After 6 mos.: $19.65 Maintenance Starting: $18.95 After 6 mos.: $20.55 Editor's notes: Licenses: Employer will reimburse employees to renew necessary licenses required to perform job. Vehicle plug-ins: Employer will provide vehicle plug-ins at no cost to employees. Education fund: Effective first week after ratification and each year during duration of agreement employer will contribute $5,000 to UFCW Education Fund. EDUCATION University of Toronto Toronto (4,300 staff-appointed, non-academic employees) and the United Steel, Paper and Forestry, Rubber, Manufacturing, Energy, Allied Industrial and Service Workers Intl. Union (USW) Renewal agreement: Effective July 1, 2017, to June 30, 2020. Signed on Sept. 3, 2017. Wage adjustments: Effective July 1, 2017: 1.8% Effective July 1, 2018: 2% Effective July 1, 2019: 2% Paid holidays: 12 days. Vacations with pay: 1.25 days per month to start, 1.33 days per month after 61 months, 1.417 days per month after 73 months, 1.5 days per month after 85 months, 1.583 days per month after 97 months, 1.667 days per month after 109 months, 1.75 days per month after 133 months, 1.833 days per month after 157 months, 2.083 days per month after 169 months. Overtime: Time and one- half for hours worked beyond 36¼ per week. Hours may be banked, maximum 150 hours. Meal allowance: $15 for em- ployees who work 2 or more overtime hours. Dental: Employer pays 80% of premiums. Vision: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums. Sick leave: 15 weeks. LTD: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums. Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums Pension: University of Toronto Pension Plan or University of Toronto Pension Plan for OISE/ UT Employees. Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of spouse, same-sex partner, children, stepchildren, grandchildren, parents, par- ents-in-law, sibling, stepbroth- er, stepsister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandparents, death of person whose relation- ship is not defined above, im- pact of which is comparable to that of immediate family (such as close friend). Seniority – recall rights: 24 months for employees with 5 or more years of service; 18 months for other employees. Call-in pay: Minimum of 4 hours' pay at applicable over- time rate or pay for all hours worked, whichever is greater (2 hours' pay for employees who work out of homes or outside of university campuses). Probationary period: 6 months. Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months; 12 for coaching letters. Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide uniforms to em- ployees who are required to wear uniforms (lab coats, den- tal/nursing uniforms, including shoes). $350 per academic year for clinical employees at dentistry faculty.
