3 Canadian HR Reporter, a Thomson Reuters business 2019 re-opener Shift premium: $2.75 per hour for working shift where at least one-half of hours are between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m. $5 per hour for working shift where at least one-half of hours are between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. $3.25 for each hour worked from Friday at 3 p.m. to Monday at 7 a.m. $35 for each tour of fire-watch duty ($65 for crew chiefs); $20 for each attendance at 2 com- pulsory practice fire drills every month for firefighters, drivers, crew chiefs. Paid holidays: 12 days, plus 1 Christmas floater day. Vacations with pay: 1 1/4 work days for each month to start, 15 days after 1 year, 20 days after 5 years, 25 days after 13 years, 30 days after 21 years, 35 days after 30 years. Additional 5 north- ern-leave days in addition to current earned vacation entitle- ment for employees who work and reside in locations north of 57th parallel. Overtime: Time and one-half for first 2 hours, double time thereafter. Time and one-half for all hours on day of rest, double time after equivalent of full normal daily hours. Double time for all work on subsequently scheduled days of rest. Medical benefits: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employ- ee pays 50% of premiums for Government Employees' Group MyCHOICE Extended Medical Benefits Plan and MyCHOICE Prescription Drug Plan. Em- ployer pays $900 per year for employee's health spending account (unused funds may be carried forward into following year, maximum 1 year). Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums for MyCHOICE Dental Plan. Sick leave: 6 days per year. LTD: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums. AD&D: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums. Life insurance: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums. Bereavement leave: 10 days for death in immediate family (spouse, benefit-partner, or any of following relations of em- ployee, spouse, benefit-partner: parent, guardian, parent-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, son, daughter, stepchild, relatives who reside with employee) Seniority – recall rights: 180 calendar days. Call-in pay: Paid at applicable overtime rates for all hours worked, no minimum number. Probationary period: 6 or 12 months, depending on classifi- cation. Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months. Severance: 1 1/2 week's pay for each year of employment, max- imum 25 weeks' pay. Safety shoes: $70 every 2 years for employees to purchase black shoes that meet requirements set out by court services. $120 per year for natural resources conservation services workers; technical, general and field ser- vices employees. Tool allowance: 1 basic set of hand tools will be supplied to each power plant for use by power-plant engineers.
