3 Administrative Assistant's UPDATE By Leslie Hughes The real estate that sits directly behind your photo is a 1400 x 425-pixel ban- ner that can really make your Linke- dIn presence POP. As you can see in the example of Minerva Sanchez Rudman, you can include an image that highlights a core value of what you believe in. Make your LinkedIn image stand out You can include an image that represents your organization or just adds some personality to your profile. I've used my free real estate to reinforce the brand of my company, highlight my core competencies and showcase my book, CREATE. CONNECT. CONVERT. A really cool (and free) tool I love to use is called Canva.com. I don't have strong graphic design skills, so Canva allows me to use their tem- plates, stock photography, images, fonts, etc., so that I can create images for social media. Here's how: Simply create a free ac- count at Canva.com. Choose LinkedIn Banner. Choose one of the tem- plates from the left-hand column. (Some images are free, some require a nomi- nal fee.) Change any colours, fonts or other details so that you have a background image you like. Click Download in the top navigation bar. Choose JPG from the drop down menu for the File Type and click Download. Open our LinkedIn profile. Click Me (top right-hand corner of navigation bar), then View Profile. Click the blue pencil in the top block of your LinkedIn profile. Click on the blue pencil to change the current stan - dard blue background. Upload the photo by finding your file in your downloads folder. Position or adjust your Cover photo and click Apply.
