Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (spouse, common-law spouse, parents, children, brothers, sisters, fiancé, grandparents, grandchildren, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law). Common- law spouse will be deemed to mean man or woman who resided with employee and who was held out publicly as spouse for at least 1 year before death. Seniority – recall rights: 12 months. Call-in pay: Minimum of 3 hours' pay at applicable over- time rates. Safety shoes: $0.15 per hour for approved winter, summer safety footwear. Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide 1 pair of winter coveralls which will be replaced on as-needed basis. Employer will provide coveralls to all em- ployees. Tool allowance: Employer will ensure replacement of tools — which employer requires em- ployees to bring on job — when lost by fire or theft by forcible entry. Mileage: $0.50 per kilometre if employee uses own vehicle at request and direction of em- ployer (employees will not be required to use own vehicle to convey passengers, material, fuel, parts). Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 1.2 increase): Classifications Group 1 (batcher/loader op- erator): $32.75 rising 1 step to $33.15 Group 2 (loader operator): $29.05 rising 1 step to $29.45 Group 3 (general): $23.40 rising 1 step to $23.70 Labourer/equipment operator Group 4 (plant/yard labourer): $20.75 rising 1 step to $21 Editor's notes: Training: Employer will pay $0.05 per hour for each hour worked by each employee into Operating Engineers Local 955 Training Trust Fund. POLICING City of Camrose Camrose, Alta. (28 police officers) and the Camrose Police Association Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2018, to Dec. 31, 2020. Ratified on April 16, 2018. Signed on April 18, 2018. Wage adjustments: Effective Jan. 1, 2018: 1.25% Effective Jan. 1, 2019: 1.25% Effective Jan. 1, 2020: 1.25% Effective Jan. 1, 2021: 1% Shift premium: $1 per hour for each hour worked between 4 p.m. and 8 a.m. $2 per hour for hours worked as police- training officer training, evalua- tion of police recruits. Paid holidays: 11 days. Vacations with pay: 120 hours to start, 160 hours after 7 years, 200 hours after 14 years, 240 hours after 21 years. Overtime: Double time for all work immediately follow- ing employee's shift. May be banked, maximum 92 hours. All accumulated overtime will be paid last pay period in De- cember. Medical benefits: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employ- ee pays 25% of premiums. Dental: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums. Sick leave: Employees receive 240 hours of leave upon begin- ning of employment. 5 days per year may be taken for personal, family-responsibility leave. Life insurance: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums. Pension: Alberta Special Forces Pension Plan. Bereavement leave: 46 hours for employees working general patrol, 40 hours for members other than general patrol for death of parent, wife, husband, child, common-law spouse, brother, sister, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, mother-in-law, father-in-law, daughter-in- law, son-in-law, grandparent, grandchild. Employees will be given reasonable travel- ling time, maximum 24 hours (36 hours outside Canada and U.S.). Seniority – recall rights: 2 years. Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours of pay at double time. Probationary period: 18 months (any member below rank of first-class constable will be eligible for promotion to next higher rank, after serving in that rank for 12 months). Uniforms/clothing: $175 per year for cleaning, alteration ex- penses; $300 per year for plain- clothes employees. Sample rates of annual pay (current, after 3.5% increase): Staff sergeant: $129,921 rising 3 steps to $134,521 Sergeant: $118,110 rising 3 steps to $122,292 Senior constable 2: $107,283 rising 3 steps to $111,082 Senior constable 1: $103,346 rising 3 steps to $107,006 First-class constable: $98,425 rising 3 steps to $101,910 Second-class constable (12 months): $88,583 rising 3 steps to $91,719 Third-class constable (12 months): $78,740 rising 3 steps to $81,528 Fourth-class constable (12 months): $68,898 rising 3 steps to $71,337 Fifth-class constable (12 months): $63,976 rising 3 steps to $66,242 Editor's notes: Court time: Paid at double time, minimum 4 hours' pay, for each appearance before noon; minimum 2 hours' pay for appearance after noon (if employee's previous shift, majority of which falls after 11 p.m., minimum 4 hours of pay). Double time for 8 hours, when employee appears in court when off-duty or on vacation, plus extra day off at end of vacation. For court time outside of Camrose, travelling time, if in excess of minimum court time claimed, will be paid at double time. Plainclothes allowance: $1,200, payable in 2 equal instalments each year on Jan. 31, July 31 for full-time plainclothes-duty employee; $4.60 per day for part-time plainclothes-duty employees. Standby pay: 1 hour for every 8 hours on standby. Personal property damage: Maximum $150 for watches; total cost of replacement or repair of eye glasses; total cost of replacement or repair of clothing. Training courses: $500-per-month living allowance for employee attending recruit training outside of Camrose. Meals or $10 per diem will be provided.
