Medical benefits: Employer will pay $884 per month (previously $826 per month) to union for each eligible officer in lieu of providing health and benefit plan for life insurance, AD&D, weekly indemnity, extended health care, LTD, dental coverage. Pension: Employer will con- tribute 8.5% per month to Can- adian Merchant Service Guild, Western Branch Pension Plan. Bereavement leave: 4 days for death of spouse, common-law partner, father, mother, spouse or common-law partner of father or mother, children, chil- dren of spouse or common-law partner, grandchildren, broth- ers, sisters, grandfather, grand- mother, father and mother of spouse or common-law partner, spouse or common-law partner of father or mother, any relative who resides with employee. Seniority – recall rights: 18 months from date of layoff; 3 years for employees who are appointed or elected to union office (or who go ashore to work for employer). Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours' at straight-time rate. Probationary period: 6 months continuous employ- ment. Discipline: Sunset clause is 3 years, except for suspensions.
