Vision: $350 every 2 years. Sick leave: 1.25 days for each month worked, maximum 72 days, after 3 months of ser- vice. LTD: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums (previously em- ployee pays 100% of premiums) for coverage of 2/3 of salary, maximum $3,000 per month. Pension: Municipal Pension Plan. Bereavement leave: 4 days for death in immediate family (spouse (including com- mon-law), parents, spouse of father or mother (including common-law children, sister, stepsister, brother, stepbroth- er, father-in-law (including common-law), mother-in-law (including common-law), grandparents (including com- mon-law), grandchild (includ- ing common-law), son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in- law, sister-in-law, any relative residing in employee's house- hold). Leave may be taken in single period of 4 days or may be taken in 2 periods, max- imum 4 days. Additional 3 days for travel related to death. Seniority – recall rights: 1 year for continuous layoffs. Call-in pay: Greater of 4 hours' pay at applicable overtime rate or applicable rate of overtime compensation for time worked, provided that period worked is not contiguous to employee's normal hours of work. Probationary period: 3 months. Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months. Severance: 2 weeks' pay for first year of service (effective July 1, 1997); 1 week's pay for each additional year of employ- ment, maximum 30 weeks' pay. Safety shoes: $200 per year for employees who are required to wear safety footwear. All footwear will comply with stan- dards in Canada Occupational Safety and Health Regulations. Employer will provide sun- glasses to employees who work outdoors on regular basis. Uniforms/clothing: Protect- ive clothing will be provided on as-needed basis due to wear and tear to employees who are required to wear them on duty as per clothing policy. Technicians will be issued with shirts, pants, coveralls; rainwear (hats, coats, pants, rubber boots) will be provided as required. Employer will pro- vide 1 jacket every 3 years to employees who work outdoors on regular basis. Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 7.9% increase): Janitor: $24.67 rising 3 steps to $26.63 Airport technician in training: $25.76 rising 3 steps to $27.81 Airport technician 2: $31.12 rising 3 steps to $33.59 Airport technician 2 (mechanic): $33.43 rising 3 steps to $36.09 Airport technician 3: $34.39 rising 3 steps to $37.13 Administration clerk/business manager: $29.64 rising 3 steps to $32 Editor's notes: Standby: $20 (previously $15) for each 8 consecutive hours on standby when employee is on standby during off-duty hours. FOOD PRODUCTION Maple Leaf Foods (Lethbridge Pork) Lethbridge, Alta. Shift premium: $0.55 per hour ($0.50 per hour) for all hours worked between 4 p.m. and 7 a.m. (premium to be continued for hours worked after 7 a.m. when employee was entitled to premium for hours immediately before 7 a.m.). Paid holidays: 11 days. Vacations with pay: 2 weeks af- ter 1 year, 3 weeks after 5 years, 4 weeks after 10 years, 5 weeks after 20 years, 6 weeks after 25 years. Employee with more than 4 weeks of vacation may accumulate those in excess of 3 from year-to-year (accumula- tion for up to 3 years at time). Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Double time after 13 continuous hours or on Sunday (except where work regularly falls on Sunday). Meal allowance: Meal will be provided by employer for em- ployee who works more than 1.5 hours after end of regular shift (to be eaten on company time, maximum 20 minutes). Second meal will be provided by em- ployer (to be eaten on company time, maximum 20 minutes) af- ter 13 hours of continuous work. Meal will be provided by em- ployer for employee who works more than 5 hours non-sched- uled days. $5 when meal is not furnished by employer. Dental: 85% reimbursement for basic services, maximum $1,800 per year. Effective April 1, 2021: $500 orthodontic coverage will be added. Vision: $250 every 2-year per- iod. $100 every 2 years for eye exams. Paramedical: $300 per year for massage therapy. Weekly indemnity: $300 per week for employees whose rate is $10.50 per hour or less; $320 per week for employees whose rate is more than $10.50 per hour; $340 per week for em- ployees whose rate is more than or equal to $11.99 per hour; $355 per week for employees whose rate is more than or equal to $12.39 per hour; $370 per week for employees whose rate is more than or equal to $13.04 per hour; $410 per week for employees whose rate is more than or equal to $14.80 per hour; $430 per week for em- ployees whose rate is more than or equal to $16.62 per hour; $450 per week for employees whose rate is more than or equal to $17.53 per hour; $463 per week for employees whose rate is $18.44 per hour. LTD: Coverage of 60% of monthly earnings. Life insurance: Coverage of employee's annual salary. Pension: Employer will con- tribute $0.96 per hour, max- imum 2,000 hours per year for each employee, after 6 months of seniority into pension plan. Bereavement leave: 3 days for death of sister, brother, husband, wife, son, daughter, grandfather, grandmother, grandchild, moth- er, mother-in-law, father, father- in-law, stepmother, stepfather, stepsister, stepbrother. 1 day for death of spouse's grandmother, spouse's grandfather, sister-in- law, brother-in-law. Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours' pay at job rate or for hours actually worked at overtime rate, whichever is greater. Probationary period: 65 days of employment on plant work, within consecutive 9-month period.
