3 Canadian HR Reporter, a HAB Press business 2020 employee who performs major duties and responsibilities of higher-rated position in bargaining unit for 1 full working day or more. 1 additional incremental pay step in senior pay scale if employee has relieved in senior position for 2 weeks or more during previous year. 1 hour's pay for Saturday, Sunday shifts worked. $1 per hour (previously $0.90 per hour) for employees whose duties commence at or after 10 a.m. Paid holidays: 12 days, plus 1 half-day on employee's last scheduled working day before Christmas Day. Vacations with pay: 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 2 years, 4 weeks after 8 years, 5 weeks after 17 years, 6 weeks after 25 years, 7 weeks after 30 years. Employees who are entitled to 3 weeks or 4 weeks of vacation, will be able to save and carry forward to future vacation period, 1 week of vacation per year, maximum 6 weeks; employees who are entitled to 5 weeks of vacation, will be able to save and carry forward to future vacation period, 2 weeks of vacation per year, maximum 6 weeks. Overtime: Double time for all work in excess of normal daily hours, for hours worked on regular days off, emergency calls. Employee may choose to receive time off instead of cash payment for overtime. Any overtime accumulated and not taken as time off before Dec. 31 of each year will be paid out, however any overtime accumulated during December may be carried over into following year. Medical benefits: Municipal Employees Benefit Association of Calgary. Pension: Local Authorities Pension Plan. Bereavement leave: 7 days for death in immediate family (current spouse (including common-law, same-gender spouse), parent, stepparent, guardian, brother, stepbrother, sister, stepsister, child, stepchild, foster- child, ward, grandparents, stepgrandparents of employee, grandchild, stepgrandchild, related dependant living in household of employee). Seniority – recall rights: 24 months. Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours' pay at double time. Extensions of day's work, which are interrupted by supper break in excess of 2 hours, will be paid as call-ins regardless of prior notification having been given. Probationary period: 6 months in 1 established position; accumulation of 10 or more days of absence from work will be added to 6-month period. Discipline: Sunset clause is 1 year (any accumulation of 10 or more days' absence from work (excluding vacation time) will be added to 1-year period). Severance: 2 weeks to start; 4 weeks after 4 years of service; 5 weeks after 6 years of service; 6 weeks after 8 years of service; 8 weeks after 10 years of service. Uniforms/clothing: When employer requires safety equipment, clothing, employer will provide to permanent employees only, at no cost to employee.
