February 17, 2020 Canadian HR Reporter, a HAB Press business 2020 COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS 6 for afternoon shift (between 6 p.m. and midnight). $0.85 per hour for night shift (between 12:01 a.m. and 8 a.m.). 1 hour extra straight-time pay for each Saturday, Sunday worked for employees whose normal work week includes work on Satur- day, Sunday. $120 per month for employee required by employer to possess valid level 2 first-aid certificate. Paid holidays: 12 days. Vacations with pay: 1 1/14 days per month, maximum 15 days, to start, 15 days after 1 year, 20 days after 6 years, 25 days after 11 years, 30 days after 20 years, Overtime: Double time for all work after 7 hours per day, 35 hours per week, on rest day. May be taken in lieu of pay within 6 months or cash pay- ment will be made. Meal allowance: Paid meal break of 1 half-hour if employee has to work more than 2 hours before or after regular shift. Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums for plan A; employer pays 80% of premiums, employ- ee pays 20% of premiums, for plan B. Effective April 1, 2020 orthodontics lifetime max- imums will be increased from $1,500 to $3,000. Vision: $400 every 2 years (pre- viously $300 every 2 years) per family member for prescription glasses, contacts, laser eye sur- gery. Weekly indemnity: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 66 2/3% of salary for 13 weeks, after 30 calendar-day waiting period. Sick leave: 1.5 days per month during probationary period; additional 12 days in advance, prorated to June 1, and further 18 days on June 1 thereafter. Upon termination of em- ployment of employee with more than 10 years' full-time service, cash payment in lieu of accumulated sick leave will be given, maximum 60 days. In case of employee's death, cash payment will be made to employee's estate. In any 1 year, employee will be entitled to accrual of all unused sick leave, maximum 120 days. LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 66 2/3% of salary (until employee is able to return to work or employee is 65, after expiry of weekly indemnity.) AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Pension: Employees will par- ticipate in B.C.'s Municipal Pen- sion Plan. Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of parent, wife, husband, common-law spouse, broth- er, sister, child, grandparent, mother-in-law, father-in-law, foster-children, stepchildren. One-half day to attend funeral service Seniority – recall rights: 1 year to start; 1 month per year of service, maximum 24 months, after 5 years of service. In any 1 year, employee will be entitled to accrual of all unused sick leave, maximum 120 days. Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours of pay at overtime rates (paid from time employee leaves home to report for duty until time employee arrives back upon proceeding directly from work). Probationary period: First 560 hours of employment. Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months. Severance: 1 week of pay at regular rate for position last oc- cupied, for every year of service, maximum 12 weeks' pay. Uniforms/clothing: If employ- er requires employees to wear special clothing, such as uni- forms, employer will provide clothing without charge (em- ployer will maintain and clean clothing).
