Medical documents: Employer will pay for medical requirements of class 1 and class 3 licenses if position requires license. Prescription safety glasses: $250, including all applicable taxes, once every 2 years. On-call: $50 per day (previously $30 per day) for weekday; $75 per day (previously $50 per day) for weekends; $100 per day (previously $70 per day) for named holidays, or at employee's prevailing rate, whichever is greater. AUTOMOTIVE LOGISTICS Cassens Transport Provincewide, Ont. (220 transport truck drivers, maintenance employees) and Teamsters Canada, Local 938 Renewal agreement: Effective May 1, 2019 to April 30, 2023. Ratified on April 30, 2019. Signed on April 30, 2019. Shift premium: $11 per hour for all hours worked on Sunday start flex workweek. $0.55 per hour for all hours worked on shifts, except shifts starting between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m., excluding maintenance employees. $1 per hour for all hours worked on shifts starting between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. for maintenance employees. Minimum 0.25 hour's pay for each individual hook-up or unhook. London-based drivers dispatched with load from Canada to U.S. or through U.S. will receive $15 and additional $15 when returning to Canada loaded. $1 per car when driver places protective covering on cargo; $1 per car for removal of car covering. $500 per contract year for processing paperwork. Paid holidays: 7 days, plus 3 days during Christmas period. Vacations with pay: 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 5 years, 4 weeks after 10 years, 5 weeks after 15 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Time and one-half for all shifts on Saturday until midnight, when it will become double time. Double time for all shifts on Sunday. Meal allowance: When maintenance personnel are working away from terminal premises on road call during meal period, employees will be given meal allowance every 4 hours away from home terminal. Allowance is equivalent to driver's meal allowance. Medical benefits: Employer will contribute $595, plus 8% sales tax, per employee per month to provide health, welfare benefits. Effective May 1, 2020: $605. Effective May 1, 2021: $615. Effective May 1, 2022: $625. Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (father, mother, spouse, current common-law spouse, brother, sister, stepparents, stepson, stepdaughter, son, daughter, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, mother-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, grandparents, grandchildren, grandparents-in-law, legal guardian). Seniority – recall rights: 24 months if employee is laid off. Call-in pay: Paid at applicable overtime rate, plus off-shift premium, minimum 3 hours of pay at time and one-half. Drivers called for intra-city show moves between 10 p.m. Saturday and 10 p.m. Sunday will be paid time and one half, minimum 5 hours' pay. Call- in guarantee for hourly-rated employees, other than Saturday and Sunday and sixth and seventh days in non-standard week, will be 8 hours' pay. Probationary period: 60 calendar days. Uniforms/clothing: Properly sized raincoats, rubber pants, rubber boots, rubber gloves, hats will be made available to all maintenance personnel required to work outside during wet weather. Adequate supply of winter coats will be made available for employees required to work outside. Employer will supply and maintain adequate coveralls as needed, maximum 5 pairs per week. Employer will supply welders with properly-sized 5-fingered welding gloves and proper welding masks. $350 per year clothing allowance, after 6 months of service. Tool allowance: $700 in each year of agreement to skilled A mechanics; $292 in each year of agreement to body-men, apprentices; $175 in each year of agreement to welders, TT mechanics. Maintenance employees will receive 1-time tool bonus of $200 (to be paid during May 1, 2020 pay period). Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 6.5% increase): Maintenance employees Lead-man: $36.04 rising 3 steps to $38.41 Skilled: $33.04 rising 3 steps to $35.41 Semi-skilled: $29.17 rising 3 steps to $31.26 Drivers: $27.55 rising 3 steps to $29.31 Apprentices First period: 50% of skilled rate Second period: 60% of skilled rate Third period: 70% of skilled rate Fourth period: 60% of skilled rate Fifth period: 90% of skilled rate Editor's notes: License suspensions: Employee will automatically be granted leave of absence, maximum 24 months, if employee has driver's license suspended. Power equipment: All power equipment will have adequate heaters, arctic windshield wipers during winter months, defrosters, windshield washers, proper windshield washer fluid, fire extinguishers, aluminum ramps, safety catwalks where necessary. Medical examinations: Employer shall pay for all examinations. If examination is taken after working hours, employee will be paid $30, except that if employee is required by employer to take examination away from home-terminal area, employee will be paid $45. Prescription safety glasses: When employee must wear prescription safety glasses, employer will pay, maximum $250, toward cost of prescription safety glasses or replacement safety lenses. EDUCATION Government of Prince Edward Island Provincewide, Prince Edward Island (2,200 teachers, educational counsellors) and the Prince Edward Island Teachers' Federation (PEITF) Renewal agreement: Effective Sept. 1, 2018 to Aug. 31, 2021.
