Canadian HR Reporter, a HAB Press business 2020 COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS CREDIT UNIONS Interior Savings Credit Union Kamloops/Barriere/Chase/Clearwater, B.C. (64 clerks, receptionists, financial services administrators, greeters, administrators, financial services reps, advisors, account managers, technicians) and the B.C. Government and Service Employees' Union (BCGEU), Component 17, Local 1705 Renewal agreement: Effective March 1, 2018 to Feb. 28, 2021. Signed on March 1, 2018. Wage adjustments: Effective March 1, 2018: 2% Effective March 1, 2019: 1.75% Effective March 1, 2020: 1.75% Shift premium: $2 per hour for each hour spent providing in- struction or evaluation to other employees. Paid holidays: 12 days. Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 3 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 5 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 10 years, 6 weeks or 12% after 20 years. Employees will be given cash bonus equivalent to 1 week's pay, plus additional 1-week vacation bonus, during 15th year of service and each 5-year multiple thereafter. Additional 20% vacation time will be given if employee elects to take vacation period beginning at first week of October to second week of De- cember or during second week of January to last week of April. Employee may carry maximum days' leave per year, maximum accumulation of 5 days. Overtime: Time and one-half for all time worked in excess of stan- dard day shift for first 2 hours, double time thereafter. Double time for all work on Sunday. Meal allowance: Employee who works more than 2 hours of overtime beyond regular shift will be given option of suitable, wholesome hot meal supplied by employer or payment of one- third of daily meal allowance ($16 for breakfast; $20 for lunch; $32 for dinner). Medical benefits: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums. Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Coverage of 75% for part A (basic preventative); 75% for part B (major restorative); 50% for part C (orthodontics). STD: Employer pays 100% of premiums. LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums. AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Pension: B.C. Credit Union Em- ployees' Pension Plan. Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (em- ployee's spouse, parent, parent's spouse, legal ward of employee, child, stepchild, foster-child, child's spouse, sibling, mother- in-law, father-in-law, grandpar- ent (including in-laws), grand- children, spouse's grandchildren, sister-in-law, brother-in-law). Seniority – recall rights: 6 months to start; 1 year after 1 year of service; 18 months after 5 years of service. Call-in pay: Minimum of 3 hours of pay or pay for ac- tual time worked, whichever is greater. Probationary period: 90 calen- dar days; 180 calendar days for FSR 2, account manager 1, ac- count manager 2, account man- ager 3. After probation, employ- ees will have trial period of 60 days worked (122 days worked for FSR 2, account manager 1, account manager 2, account manager 3). Severance: 1 week for each year of service, maximum 26 weeks. Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 5.6% increase): Group 1 Training/file clerk: $18.79 rising 3 steps to $19.85 Group 2 Teller: $22.38 rising 3 steps to $23.64 Group 3 Inventory clerk/receptionist: $23.37 rising 3 steps to $24.68 Group 4 Financial services administra- tor/member information officer (greeter)/central operations ad- ministrator: $24.13 rising 3 steps to $25.48 Group 5 Financial services rep 1/member services advisor: $25.18 rising 3 steps to $26.59 Group 6 Financial services rep 2: $28.58 rising 3 steps to $30.18 Group 7 Account manager 1/systems support technician: $29.85 rising 3 steps to $31.52 Group 8 Account manager 2: $31.67 ris- ing 3 steps to $33.45 Group 9 Account manager 3: $33.87 ris- ing 3 steps to $35.77 Signing bonus: $250 paid directly to RRSP of choice Editor's notes: Travel meals: When employee travels to other than normal work location and travel requires employee to leave prior to 7 a.m., employee will be entitled to breakfast allowance. When travel keeps employee away from home past 6:30 p.m., employee will be entitled to dinner allowance ($16 for breakfast; $32 for dinner). Retirement bonus, pre-retirement leave: Em- ployee who retires between 55 and 65 (with 10 years of service) will receive special paid leave for 5 weeks or special payment equivalent to 5 weeks of gross salary (employee may elect to have amount deposited directly into RRSP account). Wage adjustments: Effective May 1, 2020: $0.59 per hour to $0.60 per hour Effective May 1, 2021: $0.63 per hour to $0.64 per hour Shift premium: $0.50 per square foot on third floor and above. $2.50 per hour rising 2 steps to $2.70 per hour for loft floor areas. Vacations with pay: 3 weeks; maximum 8 weeks' leave of ab- sence every 3 years Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked in excess of 9 per day Monday to Fridays and 8 on Fridays. No work to be assigned on Sunday except for emergencies, in which case rate will be double time. Medical benefits: Employer will contribute $2.80 per hour (previously $2.65 per hour) to Local 183 Members' Benefit Fund for weekly indemnity, life insurance, major medical, den- tal care, legal-plan coverage. LTD: Employer will contribute $0.60 per hour to Local 183 Members' Benefit Fund. Pension: Employer will contrib- ute $6.42 per hour to Labourers' Pension Fund of Central and Eastern Canada.
