COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS Sick leave: 0.5 days per month. Unused entitlement may be accumulated, maxi- mum 90 days. Pension: All eligible employ- ees will participate in Local Authorities Pension Plan or successor plans. Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (current spouse, child, par- ent, legal guardian, brother, brother-in-law, sister, sister- in-law, son-in-law, daughter- in-law, stepmother, stepfather, stepchildren, parent of spouse, grandparent, grandchild, relative who is member of employee's household). 2 ad- ditional days for travel time, if required. 1 day to attend funeral after death of close friend or of relative who is not immediate family. Employee may be given up to 2 days with pay to perform tasks associ- ated with being executor of estate. Seniority – recall rights: 12 consecutive months for layoffs; 2 years for being ab- sent from work for any other reason. Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours at overtime rate plus travel allowance at prevail- ing county rate from and to employee's residence for dis- tance travelled in employee's private vehicle. 1 hour of pay, at applicable overtime rate, for any water and wastewater employee who performs work but is not required to travel to worksite. Time may be paid out of banked. Probationary period: 90 days worked. Discipline: Sunset clause is 36 months for any written docu- ments pertaining to disciplin- ary action or dismissal. Tool allowance: $700 per year (previously $650 per year) for journeyman mechanics, others required by employer to pro- vide substantial amount of own tools (payment split and paid in June and December). Mileage: Travel allowance at prevailing county rate for dis- tance travelled within county to, from, and between, specific construction projects for road- construction employees who provide own transportation. Seniority bonus: $0.05 per hour for each year of service after 3 years, maximum $0.70 per hour, for years of service for all public works and surveyor employees who were employed as of May 2, 1994; all other employees who qualify for seniority bonus will receive additional $0.05 per hour and continue to receive additional $0.05 each subsequent year, maximum $0.60 per hour. Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Vision: $200 every 24 months. Paramedical: $300 per prac- titioner per year. Weekly indemnity: Coverage of 66.667 % of weekly earnings to EI maximum.
