duties of higher-rated position, employee will receive rate of pay for higher-rated position for all time worked in that position. $0.50 per hour for all spray painting done. $2 per hour to employees working in presence of asbestos levels 1 and 2; one half of employ- ee's regular rate to employees working in presence of asbestos level 3 (applicable only to hours worked where employee wears protective breathing appar- atus). $1.50 per hour for time spent instructing for certified bus-driver trainers. $0.21 per hour for custodian in charge of 1-man school; $0.21 per hour for chief custodian in charge of 1-man school, plus $0.09 per hour for each employee under chief custodian's charge. 10% for temporary lead-hands. 11.6% for temporary working foremen. $0.25 per hour for employees who dispatch bus drivers on regular, curricular, extra-curricular bus runs (em- ployee must be designated as dispatcher by employer). $0.25 per hour for journeymen who are required by employer to sign annual permit for school district. Paid holidays: 12 days (10 days for 10-month employees; 11 days for 11-month employees; 12 days for 12-month employ- ees). Vacations with pay: 3 weeks after 1 year, 4 weeks after 6 years, 5 weeks after 12 years, 6 weeks after 19 years. Employ- ees will be entitled to receive 1 additional day vacation per year for each year worked after 22 years of service, maximum 5 additional vacation days. Overtime: Time and one-half for all work before or after regular hours of work; double time after 2 hours of overtime. Time and one-half for all work on consecutive days of rest; double time after 4 hours of work. Time may be banked and taken as time off, maximum 7 regular shifts in bank. Days not taken by June 30 each year will be carried over unless employ- ee requests to be paid out on last pay period of June. Meal allowance: $10 for breakfast, $17 for lunch, $23 for dinner for employees who work more than 1.5 consecu- tive hours beyond regular shift hours in any day (when meal facilities are not available). Em- ployee will be entitled to addi- tional supper meal allowance for each 4 consecutive hours of driving time after 6 p.m. Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums. $350 per family member every 24 months. $100 per family member very 24 months for eye exams. Paramedical: $350 per year for acupuncturists, chiropractors, osteopaths, podiatrists, nat- uropaths, speech pathologists, clinical psychologists. Sick leave: 1.5 shifts for each month worked. Unused por- tion will be accrued, maximum 180 shifts. Employee will re- ceive 40% of unused level when retiring, death, as severance payout (after 5 years of service). LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 3 times annual earnings, maximum $200,000. Pension: All eligible employees will participate in Municipal Pension Plan of B.C. Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (father, mother, spouse, child, brother, sister, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandparents, grandchildren, common-law spouse, sister-in-law, brother- in-law, stepchild, stepparent, foster-child, foster-parent, common-law children). 2 additional days may be given (without pay or may be paid for from employee's sick bank) for travel and estate affairs. 1 shift to attend funeral. Seniority – recall rights: 24 months for layoffs. Regular em- ployees who have been laid off and work 30 shifts in 24-month recall period will have rights extended for additional 12 months. Failure to work 30 shifts each year after year 2 will result in loss of seniority. Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours' work at base rate or for num- ber of hours actually worked at appropriate overtime rate, whichever is greater. Employee is entitled to be paid maximum 1 call-in per 4-hour period. Probationary period: 60 shifts worked from date of hiring (period may be extended max- imum 90 shifts). Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for records of offence. Severance: 1 week's pay for every year of service following 12-month layoff period when employer is unable to provide work for displaced employee with 5 or more years of service. Safety shoes: Employer will pay 50% of cost of boots, max- imum $200 per year. Uniforms/clothing: All bus drivers and maintenance em- ployees will be provided with coveralls. Other employees will be provided with coveralls, smocks, rubber boots, other protective clothing, where re- quired. Employer will pay for cleaning of coveralls once per week. Tool allowance: All tools re- quired by employees will be supplied by employer for use on job only. $25 per week for employee required to utilize own hand (non-power) tools to perform work on buildings or grounds. Professional development fund: Employer will contribute 65%; union will con- tribute 35% of $15,000 in fund.
