COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS ter 1 year, 3 weeks after 5 years, 4 weeks after 10 years, 5 weeks after 25 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for authorized hours in excess of normal work day or work week; hours on statutory holiday; employee's scheduled day off; hours worked within 12-hour off period. Double time for all hours worked on Sunday. Meal allowance: 10-minute rest period, for employees who work 1 hour of overtime; $7 for employees who work 2.5 hours or more at end of regular shift. Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for Ontario Health Insurance plan (OHIP). Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums for basic optical plan. Weekly indemnity: Employer pays 100% of premiums for cov- erage of 75% for 15 weeks and weeks 31 to 52, maximum $465 per week (previously $460 per week). Pension: Employer-funded pension plan. Bereavement leave: 5 paid working days for death of spouse or child. 4 paid working days for death of parent, parent- in-law, sibling. 2 paid working days for death of sibling-in-law, grandparent. 1 paid working day for death of grandchild. 1 un- paid day for sibling-in-law not of employee's immediate family. Seniority – recall rights: 12 months. Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours' pay when called back after leav- ing work. $30 for each call-in, plus time and one-half for time worked for mechanics; $40 for each call-in, plus time and one- half for time worked for electri- cian programmers. Probationary period: 65 days worked within 9-month period. Discipline: Sunset clause is 39 months for disciplinary nota- tions placed against record of employee. Safety shoes: $130 per year (previously $110 per year) if re- quired to wear safety shoes. $45 towards cost of second pair of boots if necessary. Uniforms/clothing: Where uniforms are required by em- ployer, it will provide 4 uniforms for females and 3 pairs of pants plus 4 shirts for males. 5 pants and 5 shirts for maintenance de- partment employees. 4 aprons per year. $110 every 2 years to- wards cost of prescription safety glasses for welders, mainte- nance mechanics, maintenance mechanic trainees, electricians, electrician/programmers. $75 winter clothing allowance for shippers, receivers, and employ- ees who shunt trailers. Tool allowance: $95 (previ- ously $90) for line mechanics, $230 (previously $215) for maintenance mechanics and electricians Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 2.5% increase): Doug mixers/receivers/line mechanics/distribution and promotional supplies handler/ jam maker: $24.23 rising in 1 step to $24.73 Machine operators/pre-scalers/ automated packaging machine operator: $21.50 rising in 1 step to $22 Palletizers: $22.10 rising in 2 step to $22.60 Janitor/packaging line supplier/ raw material supplier: $21.80 rising in 1 step to $22.30 Set-up person: $23.50 rising in 1 step to $24 Warehouse person: $22 rising in 2 step to $22.50 Wafer line middle person: $21.75 rising in 1 step to $22.25 Line quality control person: $21.02 rising in 1 step to $21.52 Packer/general help: $19.87 ris- ing in 1 step to $20.37 Group leader/wafer line cutter: $20.37 rising in 1 step to $20.87 Electrician/programmer: $40.41 rising in 1 step to $40.95 $1 per hour less for training time in first month of employ- ment. Editor's notes: Friday shutdown: If there is 1-day shutdown on Friday, employer will assign cleaning work normally per- formed by part-time employees on Saturdays to full-time employees at regular wage rate on such Fridays. Unpaid leave: Any employee with 3 years' seniority will be allowed up to 4 weeks leave of absence for overseas travel every 3 years. Must be used after 2 weeks' vacation are already used. Safety incentive payment: $75 per year to each employee who has at least 1 year of service as of June 1. Prescription safety glasses: Employer will pay $110 every 2 years toward cost of prescription safety glasses for welders, maintenance mechanics, maintenance mechanic trainees, electricians, electrician/programmer. ROADS/HEAVY CONSTRUCTION HRN Labour Services Territory-wide, Northwest Territories (120 heavy equipment operators, mechanics, serviceman, welders) and the Construction Workers Union, CLAC Local 63 Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2019 to Dec. 31, 2021. Signed on March 7, 2019. Shift premium: $0.50 per hour for stewards. $1 per hour for lead-hands (crane work scope not applicable for lead- hand designation). Paid holidays: 11 days. Vacations with pay: 4% of each paycheque; 6% after 5 years of service. Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Medical benefits: Employer will contribute $1.82 per hour into health and welfare plan. Dental: Coverage of 100%, maximum $2,000 per person per year, for basic services. Coverage of 50%, maximum $2,000 per person per year, for comprehensive services. Coverage of 50%, maximum $3,000 lifetime for dependants younger than 19, for orth- odontic services. Vision: Coverage of $300 every year for dependants younger than 21; $300 every 2 years for dependants, employ- ees older than 21. Paramedical: Maximum $50 per visit (doctor's referral re- quired) for massage therapy. STD: Coverage of 60% weekly basic earning, maximum $600 per week, payable after first day of accident or hospitaliza- tion; 14th day of illness, maxi- mum 119 days. LTD: Coverage of 60% weekly basic earning, maximum $2,600 per month, payable af- ter 119 days. AD&D: Coverage of $100,000 (previously $60,000). Life insurance: Coverage of $100,000 (previously $60,000). Pension: Employer will con- tribute $1 per hour to union- sponsored group RSP. Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of spouse (includ- ing common-law), children. 3 days for death of mother, father, brother, sister, grand- mother, grandfather, mother- in-law, father-in-law. Further time off, without pay, may be taken by mutual agreement between employee and em- ployer. Safety shoes: All employees will wear CSA-approved safe- ty footwear where required, to be furnished by employee. Uniforms/clothing: All em- ployees will wear safety hats, safety glasses which will be supplied by employer.
