EDUCATION Yellowknife Public Denominational District Education Authority Yellowknife (110 educational workers) and the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) as represented by its agent the Union of Northern Workers (UNW) Renewal agreement: Effective July 1 ,2019 to June 30,2022. Signed on July 1 ,2019. Shift premium: $100 per week (or prorated daily allowance) for employees supervising stu- dent internships. Paid holidays: 12 days. Vacations with pay: 15 days or 6% after 1 year, 20 days or 8% after 3 years, 25 days or 10% after 11 years, 30 days or 12% after 20 years. Employees may carry over maximum 10 working days of vacation credit from 1 year to next. All other vacation days not taken will be liquidated. 1 additional day for each 5 consecutive dates of vacation for regular fulltime employees employed in maintenance area who use vacation entitlements between Oct. 1 and Feb. 28. Overtime: Time and one-half for work after 7, 7.5 or 8 hours per day; double time for work on holidays, Sundays. May be taken as time off in lieu, maximum 5 days. Time may be carried over to following school year but must be used that year. Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Em- ployer will provide $500 per school year health spending account. Any unused amounts in employee's health spend- ing account can be carried forward for 1 school year. Any amounts in account that are not used within 2 school years will lapse. Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Sick leave: 2 days per month maximum 20 days per year. ln circumstances where sick leave would have been au- thorized but employee has insufficient or no sick leave entitlement, employee will be granted sick leave in advance maximum 20 days. LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums. AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Pension: DB plan. Employer will make required Canada Pension Plan contributions. Bereavement leave: 10 days for death of employee's moth- er, father, child, spouse. 5 days for death in immediate family (sibling, stepparent, stepsib- ling, stepchild, spouse's par- ent, grandchild, grandparent, person who has acted as em- ployee's legal guardian before age of majority, any relative residing in employee's house- hold). Employer will reimburse employee cost of travelling out of Yellowknife for funeral (re- imbursement will not exceed cost of bereavement return airfare to Edmonton). Seniority – recall rights: 24 months for layoffs. Call-in pay: Greater of com- pensation at appropriate overtime rate or compensation equivalent to 4 hours' pay at straight-time rate. Probationary period: 12 months for 12-month employ- ees; 10 months for 10-month employees; 11 months for 11-month employees. Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months for document or written statement related to disciplinary action. Severance: 2 weeks' pay per year for first 5 years of employ- ment; 3 weeks' pay per year for each year of employment after 5 years (maximum 52 weeks of pay).
