COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS of premiums. Sick leave: After working 2 months, employee will have earned 4 hours of credits, and will accumulate 4 hours per month thereafter maximum 40 hours. On Jan. 1 of each year thereafter, employees will re- ceive 40 hours' leave to apply to current years' service. Days not used can be accumulated maxi- mum 300 hours. Employee with 10 or more years' service will be paid all accumulated time when employee retires. STD: Coverage of 80% of wag- es, maximum 26 weeks. LTD: Employee pays 100% of premiums. Coverage of 50% of earnings, maximum $5,000 per month. AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Pension: Employer will con- tribute 6%, employees contrib- ute maximum 5.25% (matched by employer) to DC plan. Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (spouse, parents, grandpar- ents, spouse's grandparents, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law; plus sons, daughters, brothers, sisters; their spouses, any rela- tive residing permanently with employee). Employees who need more time off to attend funeral will be allowed to take extra days off, without pay. Seniority – recall rights: 2 years for employee transfers to position outside bargaining unit; 52 weeks for layoffs. Se- niority will be maintained and accumulated during occupa- tional accident, illness or while on sick leave benefits. As well, seniority will be maintained and accumulated during any and all leaves of absences that are described in 2019 Alberta Employment Standards. Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours of overtime pay; minimum 4 hours at regular overtime rates (in addition to statutory holiday pay) when employee is called in on scheduled day off or holiday. Probationary period: 120 consecutive calendar days (ex- tension of 120-day probation period will be by mutual agree- ment of both parties). Discipline: Sunset clause is 1 year for disciplinary notices, letters of expectation. Severance: 3 weeks per year of service maximum 104 weeks. Safety shoes: $250 per year; $350 per year for field service persons assigned to field trucks on regular basis and yard per- sons. Uniforms/clothing: Cov- eralls will be supplied and cleaned without charge to employees who normally wear coveralls. Immersion suits, fireproof coveralls will be made available for employees required to wear them on job assignments. Field serviceper- sons will be provided 3 pairs of Arctic coveralls (or pants and jacket) and cold weather protective gloves each year. Welders will be provided with protective gloves, fresh-air welding helmets. Tool allowance: $650 per year for heavy equipment technician, mechanic, electri- cian, refrigeration, air con- ditioning mechanic (HVAC), millwright, apprentices; $450 per year for welder, machinist, apprentices; $200 per year for licensed/unlicensed main- tenance person, track press operator, instrumentation technician. Meal expenses: $70 per diem ($20 breakfast; $20 lunch; $30 dinner) for employees who are away from branch for training (when meals are not provided) or overnight on field assignment. Custom earplugs: 100% of cost of 1 pair of custom earplugs every 2 years for employ- ees who require earplugs. Location allowance: High Level: $450 per month; Fort McMurray/Wood Buffalo: $1,350 per month; Fort McMurray/Wood Buffalo (employees hired after date of ratification Oct. 8, 2019): $1,000 per month; NWT: $700 per month.
