PM #40065782 AN ONTARIO university breached the privacy of its faculty members when it opened their locked mailboxes to retrieve hate mail that had been sent to them. Ryerson University is a universi- ty located in Toronto. The univer- sity's faculty members all had in- dividual locked mailboxes on the university's property, for which each member had a key. The uni- versity also kept a master key. P&H Milling Group is a milling company that produces flour and cereal products. In March 2020, P&H followed public health directives issued as the COVID-19 pandemic took hold, including requiring any employees who had been potentially exposed to the virus to self-isolate for 14 days before returning to work. On March 13, P&H informed employees about its COVID-19 prevention policy, stating that "if you are not ill but are required to go into quarantine by law or by public health official, you should contact your su- pervisor to determine if working from home is possi- ble in your case. If not, you may qualify for EI benefits which have been enacted to assist individuals who have been quarantined due to COVID-19."
