COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS years, 35 days or 10% after 19 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after regular work hours or in excess of regular workday. Double time after 14 hours of overtime in 1 week. Time and one-half for all work on Sunday, double time after 8 hours of work. Meal allowance: Employer will provide adequate meal or $15 if lunch is not provided when employee works more than 10 hours in 1 day and is not given advance notice on previous day. Medical benefits: Employer pays 68% of premiums, em- ployee pays 32% of premiums. Dental: Employer pays 68% of premiums, employee pays 32% of premiums. 100% reim- bursement for basic services, maximum $1,600 per year per family member. Effective June 1, 2023: $1,700 per year per family member. Effective June 1, 2024: $1,800 per year per family member. Vision: Employer pays 68% of premiums, employee pays 32% of premiums. Maximum $200 for each 24-month period for glasses, contact lenses, laser eye surgery. Maximum $100 for each 24-month period for eye exam for persons 19 to 64 years old. Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of spouse, child. 3 days for death of mother, father, brother, sister, grandparent, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law. Seniority – recall rights: 18 months when employee hasn't performed any work due to lay- off, illness, injury; 24 months due to compensable WCB ill- ness or injury; 6 months when employee leaves bargaining unit for 6 consecutive months to work as shop supervisor for company. Call-in pay: Pay at applicable overtime rate or 4 hours of pay at applicable overtime rate, whichever is greater, for employee who reports to work during 12 consecutive hours immediately following regular quitting time of regu- lar shift. Probationary period: Ag- gregate total of 90 days or 720 worked hours, whichever comes first, within 6 months of first day of employment. Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months for discipline steps. Safety shoes: Employer will pay employees $0.10 per hour work as safety boot premium. Uniforms/clothing: Employer will supply employees with gloves as often as required. Employer will pay employees $0.10 per hour work as clothing premium. Tool allowance: Employer will supply all tools including tapes, tape refills, chipping hammers on sign-out basis. Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 7.2% increase): Crew leader (production qual- ity control)/electrician Alberta ticket/millwright/machinist: $32.93 rising 4 steps to $35.29 General maintenance/jig lead- er/welding leader: $31.59 rising 4 steps to $33.85 Joist checker and splicer/ structural steel fabricators and welders: $30.88 rising 4 steps to $33.10 Yard shipper receiver/joist welder: $29.83 rising 4 steps to $31.97 Joist assembler trainee: $27.87 rising 4 steps to $29.86 Janitor/labourer (after 3 months): $22.55 rising 4 steps to $24.16 Janitor (first 3 months): $18.65 rising 4 steps to $19.98 Probationary employees will be paid 10% per hour less than classification rate for aggregate total of 50 days or 400 worked hours, whichever comes first, with 6 months from first date of employment. Apprentices First-year: 70% of steel fabrica- tor (Alberta ticket) and welder rates Second-year: 80% of steel fabricator (Alberta ticket) and welder rates Third-year: 90% of steel fab- ricator (Alberta ticket) and welder rates Editor's notes: Apprentice training pay: $100 per week while attending school upon successful completion of current train- ing year. Prescription safety glasses: Employer will supply employee with prescription safety glasses plus $50 for frames. GOVERNMENT City of Penticton Penticton, B.C. (230 municipal workers) and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), Local 608 Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2019 to Dec. 31, 2023. Signed on Dec. 6, 2019. Shift premium: $0.50 per hour for any shift that commences or ends between 6 p.m. in 1 day and 5 a.m. on following day. $0.35 per hour for actual hours worked by employee perform- ing dirty work. $0.50 per hour for hours worked for employee who has been appointed to act as level 2 first-aid attendant. Attendant will also receive $500 bonus upon successful completion of required first aid course plus additional $750 bonus after serving full 3-year term as attendant, immedi- ately following completion of required course. $183 per month for building, plumbing officials required to have trades certificate, as set out in job description. $0.40 per hour for positions in trades schedule B. $1.70 per hour for instrumen- tation/electrical technicians. Paid holidays: 12 days. Vacations with pay: 1.5 days per month, maximum 15 days, to start, 105 hours after 1 year, 140 hours after 8 years, 175 hours after 17 years, 210 hours after 21 years for employees working 35 hours per week. 1.5 days per month, maximum 15 days, to start, 112.5 hours after 1 year, 150 hours after 8 years, 187.5 hours after 17 years, 225 hours after 21 years for employees working 37.5 hours per week. 1.5 days per month, maximum 15 days, to start, 120 Apprentice training pay: $100 per week while attending school upon completion of training year.
