COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS Medical benefits: Employer pays 50% of premiums, em- ployee pays 50% of premiums for health and welfare plan. LTD: Employees pay 100% of premiums. Bereavement leave: 3 paid days for death of spouse, common-law spouse, parent, stepparent, parent-in-law, child, stepchild, sibling, grand- parent, grandchild, child-in- law. 1 paid day for death of relative other than immediate family member listed above. 1 day may be banked for de- layed funeral or interment. Upon death of client — and at request of employee — em- ployer will pro-rate employee's required monthly hours to accommodate time spent without pay attending client's funeral, provided that funeral is within geographic area of bargaining unit. Seniority – recall rights: 12 months after layoffs or when employee leaves bargaining unit to be employed by employer in different capacity; 36 months due to illness or injury (subject to Human Rights Code). Probationary period: 3 calen- dar months. Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for records of disciplin- ary action. Uniforms/clothing: Upon hire, employer will provide each employee with 1 of employer's preferred uniform. Following completion of probationary period, each trainer will be provided with second preferred uniform. 2 additional uniforms on anniversary date. Commissions: Employees are entitled to 10% of value of personal training contracts sold by employee; 10% of auto-renewal payments; 10% of team training contracts sold by employee; 5% of personal training alternative sessions sold by employee. Can- celled sessions: Trainer will be compensated as if session was completed when client cancels scheduled training with less than 24 hours or notice and when session is redeemed. Get well/volunteer days: Employees will be entitled to paid get well/volunteer days: 2 days to start; 3 days after 2 years; 4 days after 4 years; 5 days after 6 years. Days may be carried over on year-to-year basis, with no payout of unused days upon cessation of employment. Days may be taken in one-half or full-day increments. Education allowance reimbursement: Amount equivalent to 50% of cost of courses, maximum $1,000 per year for employees with 1 year of service; amount equivalent to 50% of cost of courses, maximum $2,000 per year for employees with 5 years of service. SOCIAL SERVICES Workers' Resource Centre Calgary (110 case workers, public legal educators, intake coordinators) and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), Local 4731 Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2019 to Dec. 31, 2021. Signed on April 10, 2019. Shift premium: $2.50 per hour over employee's cur- rent rate for temporary as- signments. Employee will be paid rate of position assigned should employee be assigned out-of-scope position for less than 3 months. Paid holidays: 13 days, plus Christmas week (Dec. 27 to Dec. 31). Employee will re- ceive 5% of last 28 calendar days of pay for any holiday that occurs within 28 calendar days of employee's last day of work if employee is laid off. Vacations with pay: 15 days or 6% to start, 20 days or 8% after 2 years, 25 days or 10% after 4 years, 30 days or 12% after 15 years, 35 days or 14% after 25 years. Unused vaca- tion days can only be carried forward to next year, maxi- mum 10 vacation days from 1 year to another. Overtime: Time and one-half for hours worked after 7 hours per day, 35 hours per week or 7.75 hours per day or average of 140 hours of 4-week period. Time may be banked, maxi- mum 35 hours (no limit to number of hours that can be banked for overtime banked during statutory holiday, while on vacation or while on approved leave). Public legal educator position may bank up to equivalent of 50 hours. Minimum of 3 hours at dou- ble time for all-time worked on statutory holiday, while on vacation or while on approved leave. Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Em- ployer will provide $750 per year to each employee to use on themselves or family mem- bers. For employees who do not otherwise have coverage, employer will pay employee's monthly premiums for Alber- ta Health Care Insurance. Dental: 80% coverage for rou- tine dental. 50% coverage for major dental. $2,000 per year coverage for combine routine and major. 50%, maximum $1,500 per lifetime for depen- dants younger than 18 (up to 25 if in school) for orthodon- tics. Vision: $300 every 24 months; $25 coverage for eye exams. Paramedical: $500 each with no cap for chiro, podiatrist, massage (need doctor's note), physio, naturopath, osteo- path, dietitian, psycho/social worker, speech therapist (need doctor's note), acupuncture. Sick leave: Employees will accrue 2 days credits, with pay, for each month worked. Leave is cumulative from year to year, maximum 120 actual working days. STD: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Coverage of 2/3 of salary, maximum $750 per week, for 26 weeks. LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Coverage of 2/3 of salary, maximum $10,000 per month, after 26 weeks. AD&D: Coverage of 1 times annual salary. Life insurance: Coverage of 1 times annual salary.
