Shift premium: $0.40 per hour for all hours worked dur- ing 1 tour of duty that com- mences at or after 3 p.m. $1 per hour to all uniformed pa- trol and emergency response unit members for all hours worked from midnight to 7 a.m. Paid holidays: 12 days. If em- ployee designates holidays in their faith, overtime and other provisions that normally apply to statutory holidays will not apply to Good Friday, Easter Monday, Christmas Day for member but will apply to des- ignated days. Vacations with pay: 8 hours after 1 month to start increas- ing each month to 80 hours after 1 year, 120 hours after 3 years, 160 hours after 8 years, 200 hours after 15 years, 240 hours after 21 years, 248 hours after 25 years, 8 additional hours in each subsequent year of continuous service up to 280 hours after 29 years. Employee who is required to attend court during annual vacation or statutory holiday leave, will be granted 2 tours of duty of additional vacation pay or pay at straight time for each day of interruption of such vacation. Up to 80 hours may be carried over to following calendar year. Overtime: Time and one-half for all time worked in excess of normal scheduled tour of duty, when employee is required to be on duty for one-half hour or more in excess of daily tour of duty. Time and one-half for hours worked during normally scheduled tour of duty and double time for hours in ex- cess of normal tour of duty on statutory holiday. May be used as lieu time banked up to 100 hours into following calendar year. Meal allowance: $10 for members required to work overtime in excess of 3 hours consecutive to end of sched- uled tour of duty and after each subsequent 6-hour peri- od, when members are within 50 linear kilometres from Kingston police headquarters. Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for ex- tended health benefit plan. Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums for single and de- pendant coverage for Ontario Dental Association (ODA) schedule of fees; 50/50 co- payment of orthodontic care ($3,000 lifetime maximum); 50/50 copayment of major restorative services ($3,000 lifetime maximum). Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums for $400 for pre- scription eyewear every 24 months, $1,000 for laser sur- gery once per lifetime, up to $100 every 24 months for eye examinations. Paramedical: $500 health care spending account per calendar year, increasing to $700 on Jan. 1, 2022. Sick leave: 1.25 days per month of active service (previ- ously 1.5 days). Days can be banked and eligible for payout upon retirement or voluntary resignation after 5 years' con- tinuous service. LTD: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums for for coverage of 66.7% of member's annual gross salary up to $10,000 per month, commencing after 119 days from reported day of dis- ability. Duration of 2 years if employee is unable to perform duties of their occupations. After 2 years, employees must be unable to perform duties of any occupation for benefits to continue. AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 2 times annual salary or times basic life insurance if 65 years of age or older. Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for cover- age of 2.5 times annual salary for employees, $10,000 for spouses, and $5,000 for each eligible independent child. Where employee is killed or dies as direct result of inju- ries received in lawful per- formance of duties as police officer, leaving spouse or any dependent child, employer will pay equivalent of 1 year of de- ceased's salary at time of death to estate of deceased officer. Pension: Every full-time member is enrolled in Ontario Municipal Employees Retire- ment System (OMERS). Early retirement without actuarial reduction in benefits within 10 years prior to employee's nor- mal retirement date when em- ployee is declared by employer to be unable to perform duties of employee's employment because of mental or physical incapacity. Retirement will be compulsory at end of calendar year in which members attain their sixtieth birthday. Bereavement leave: 7 clear days away from work for death of parent, spouse, common- law spouse, same-sex partner, child, sibling, parent-in-law. 3 clear days away from work for death of sibling-in-law, child- in-law, grandchild, grandpar- ent of employee or employee's spouse. 1 clear day away from work for death of aunt, uncle, niece, nephew. Stepparent, stepchild, stepsibling, step- grandchild will be considered when it is established that there is continuing close per- sonal relationship. Seniority – recall rights: 12 months. Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours at time and one-half. Minimum 4.5 times regular hourly rate for court appear- ances during off-duty hours. Uniforms/clothing: Voucher system for cleaning of uni- forms or clothing will be equivalent to clean 180 units of clothing per year. 1 unit is equivalent to cost of cleaning 1 shirt. Employees assigned uniformed duties receive 110 vouchers for uniforms plus 70 for either uniform or non- uniform cleaning. Employees assigned to non-uniformed duties receive 180 vouchers for either uniform or non- uniform cleaning. Employees who are regularly assigned plain-clothes duties receive up to $1,200 per year clothing al- lowance.
