42 www.hrawards.ca 2021 METHODOLOGY NOMINATIONS The nationwide call for nomina- tions was open to all HR profes- sionals, teams, companies, or- ganizations and industry service providers from across Canada. Nominations were open from April 2021 to June 2021. RESEARCH The awards team conducted re- search and drew on knowledge and information gained through Canadian HR Reporter and HRD Canada to verify and support nominations received. FINALISTS Once all nominations were con- sidered and research was com- plete, finalists were selected in each category (except the Life- time Achievement category) and notified. Finalists were an- nounced in Canadian HR Report- er, HRD Canada, and the Canadi- an HR Awards website. JUDGING All finalist submissions were for- warded to an independent judg- ing panel comprising esteemed experts, thought leaders and veterans in and around the HR profession. The panel will assess and vote for the winners in each category according to the rele- vant category criteria. Voting will commence in August 2021 and their judgment will be impartial, balanced, incisive and fair. Any judge with a conflict of interest in a category will recuse them- selves from judging that catego- ry. WINNERS Using a simple points system to aggregate judges' votes, the fi- nalist with the top score in a cat- egory will be named winner and announced at the virtual show on September 15. They will also be promoted in Canadian HR Re- porter and HRD Canada.
