COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS EDUCATION Mohawk Council of Akwesasne (Ahkwesahsne Mohawk Board of Education) Akwesasne, Ont. (93 educators, support staff ) and the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) Renewal agreement: Effective Sept. 1 , 2019 to Aug. 31, 2023. Signed on Feb. 22, 2021. Wage adjustments: Effective Sept. 1, 2019: 2% Effective Sept. 1, 2020: 1.5% Effective Sept. 1, 2020: 1.5% Shift premium: $50 per day when teacher is assigned as acting principal for 1 or more school days; $25 per half-day when teacher is assigned acting principal duties for 1 half-day. Paid holidays: 10 days plus American Thanksgiving (sub- stituted for Remembrance Day), Friday immediately fol- lowing American Thanksgiv- ing and National Indigenous Day. Overtime: Only bargaining unit members in TSS1 and TSS2 categories will be paid overtime in accordance with requirements of Canada Labour Code. Sick leave: On first day of school year each employee will be credited with 15 days in sick leave account, (calculated at 10 multiplied by 1.5 days per month), maximum 200 days in employee's account. Pension: All eligible employ- ees will participate in Mohawk Council of Akwesasne Pension Plan. Bereavement leave: 10 calendar days for death in immediate family (spouse, common-law partner, parent, parent-in-law, stepparent, foster-parent, grandparents, grandchild, great grandchild, brother, brother-in-law, sis- ter, sister-in-law, child, fos- ter-child, adopted child, child of spouse or common-law partner, stepchild, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, any relative who resides in employee's home). 5 calendar days for death of stepbrother, step- sister, niece, nephew, aunt, uncle, grandparent in-law, first cousin. 1 day for death of great aunt, aunt-in-law, great uncle, uncle-in-law, great niece, great nephew, close cousin related by blood. Employees may utilize leave, without pay, or personal leave day to attend funeral of close friend or elder. Seniority – recall rights: 24 months after layoffs. Probationary period: First 10 months worked during school year. Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years for any disciplinary action concerning employee.
