(150 support employees) and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 1748 Renewal agreement: Effective Aug. 13, 2014, to Dec. 31, 2015. Signed on Aug. 13, 2014. Wage adjustments: Effective Jan. 1, 2015: 2% Calculated by CLR. Shift premium: 5% premium for any employee designated by the employer to relieve in the absence of the supervisor. 5% premium for any dietary aide working as a cook in the absence of the lead hand cook. 85¢ per hour for all hours worked on a shift where at least 50% of the scheduled shift falls between 3 p.m. of one day and 8 a.m. of the following day. 45¢ per hour for all hours worked between Friday at 11 p.m. and Sunday at 11 p.m. Paid holidays: 11 days and 2 additional floating holidays. Employees are entitled to either Christmas Day or New Year's Day off. Employees receiving Christmas Day off in one year will receive New Year's Day off in the next year and vice versa. Vacations with pay: 2 weeks' va- cation after 1 year, 3 weeks after 3 years, 4 weeks after 8 years, 5 weeks after 15 years and 6 weeks after 25 years. An employee with 3 weeks or more entitlement can carry 1 week over for the follow- ing vacation year. overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked in excess of 7.5 hours in one day or 75 hours per bi-weekly period, on the employee's 6 th consecutive day of work and every consecutive day worked thereafter as well as on the employee's regularly sched- uled day off. Overtime premium will not be duplicated nor pyra- mided. Meal allowance: $10 when em- ployee is required to work more than 2 hours past his normal quitting time. Dental: Employer contributes 100% of billed premiums toward coverage under the Industrial Al- liance Dental Plan. The employer provides for major restorative dental benefits, coinsurance 75% employer and 25% employee to an annual maximum of $1,000. The employer provides orth- odontic coverage for dependants only, to a maximum of $1,000 per person per lifetime, coinsur- ance 75% employer and 25% employee. Vision: $300 per family member ever 2 years for the purchase of eye glasses or contact lenses. $75 per family member every 2 years for the payment of eye care ex- ams. Premiums payable 100% by the employer. Sick leave: 1 day for each full month of employment. Life insurance: Group Life Insurance Plan amounts to double the employee's salary with premiums payable 100% by the employer. Bereavement leave: 5 days' be- reavement leave for employee's immediate family, 3 days for fam- ily and 1 day for extended family. Immediate family includes the employee's spouse, common law spouse, son, daughter, parent, stepparent, stepchild, brother, sister, father-in-law, mother-in- law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparent or grandchild. Family includes brother-in-law, sister-in-law, great grandparents, guardians and wards. Extended family includes uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces. Seniority — recall rights: 2 years. Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours' pay at the employee's regular rate. Probationary period: 460 hours worked. Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months provided the employee's record remains discipline free. Pregnancy leave: 17 weeks. The employee must have started employment at least 13 weeks prior to the expected date of birth to be eligible. Parental leave: 35 weeks for employees who also took pregnancy leave and 37 weeks for employees who did not take preg- nancy leave. Influenza vaccine: Employees who refuse to take the required vaccine will be reassigned during the outbreak period. If reassignment is not possible, the employee will be placed on unpaid leave. Employees exempted from the vaccine for medical reasons, where a medical certificate is provided to this effect, will be paid if reassignment is not possible. Mini- mum 3 hours' pay for employees handling freight. Paid holidays: 10 days. Double time for all hours worked on paid holidays. Vacations with pay: 9% vacation pay for regular employees and 4% vacation pay for temporary employees. overtime: Time and one-half for all time worked beyond regular 8-hour shift Monday to Friday. Time and one-half for all work performed on Saturday and Sunday. Bereavement leave: 4 days for the death of an employee's spouse, father, mother, brother, sister, son or daughter. 1 day for employee's father-in-law, moth- er-in-law, brother-in-law, sister- in-law, stepparent, uncle, aunt or grandchild. Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours. Uniforms/clothing: The em- ployer provides life jackets as well as goggles and dust masks in dirty areas.
