4 Canadian HR Reporter, a Thomson Reuters business 2015 COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS September 21, 2015 COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS CONSTRUCTION JFSL Fabrication Services Territorywide, Northwest Territories (15 labourers) and the Construction Workers Union Local 63, Christian Labour Association of Canada (CLAC) Renewal agreement: Effec- tive March 1, 2015, to Oct. 29, 2017. Signed on June 11, 2015. Shift premium: $1 per hour for employees assigned to safety watch. $2.25 per hour for working night shifts. $2 for dual ticket holders. $5 al- loy premium. $1 for stewards, $1.25 for stewards with tool- box II, $1.50 for stewards with toolbox III. Paid holidays: 11 days. Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked in excess of 8 per day. Meal allowance: Meal and half-hour break provided when employee is required to work more than 12 hours in one day. Dental: 100% coverage up to $2,000 per person per year for basic services. 50% cover- age up to $2,000 per person per year for comprehensive services. 50% coverage up to $3,000 lifetime maximum per child under 19. Vision: $300 per year for those under 21, $300 every 2 years for those over 21. STD: 60% of earnings up to $600 per week. LTD: 60% of earnings up to $2,600 per month. AD&D: $60,000. $30,000 for employees after age 74. Life insurance: $60,000. $30,000 for employees after age 74. Pension: CLAC Pension Plan. Employees may contribute up to 3%. Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours' pay at prevailing rate. Safety shoes: $150 for safety boots per year. Uniforms/clothing: Safety hats and boots provided. Em- ployer to supply gloves, non prescription safety glasses, fire retardant coveralls and rain-gear when required. $150 toward prescription safety goggles. Tool allowance: All trades- men to provide tools common to their trade, employer to pro- vide all specialty tools. Sample rates of pay, current (base wages): Pipefitter: $44.96 per hour Welder, B pressure: $46.71 Welder, structural: $44.96 Ironworker: $44.96 Insulator: $42.64 Carpenter/scaffolder: $42.64 Millwright: $44.96 Pump jack mechanic: $44.96 Crane operator: $44.96 Heavy equipment operator: $44.96 Boat captain: $44.96 Deck hand: $29.28 Labourer, skilled: $30.14 Labourer, intermediate: $28.40 Labourer, entry level: $24.11 HEALTH CARE Prince Edward Island Department of Health Provincewide, Prince Edward Island (1,210 nurses) and the Prince Edward Island Nurses' Union Renewal agreement: Effec- tive April 1, 2014, to March 31, 2018. Signed on April 7, 2015. Wage adjustments: Effective April 1, 2014: 0.75% Effective Oct. 1, 2014: 0.75% Effective April 1, 2015: 1% Effective Oct. 1, 2015: 1% Effective April 1, 2016: 2% Effective Oct. 1, 2016: 2% Effective April 1, 2017: 1% Effective Oct. 1, 2017: 1% Shift premium: $3 per hour for all hours worked between 5 p.m. and 8 a.m. $3 for all hours worked on weekends. Paid holidays: 11 days and 1 floating holiday. Vacations with pay: 9.375 hours for each 162.5 hours worked to start, 112.5 hours after 1 year, 150 hours after 5 years, 187.5 hours after 15 years and 232.5 hours after 25 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked beyond 7.5 hours per day or 37.5 hours per week. Meal allowance: Time and one-half for employees re- quired to remain at their work station during their meal pe- riod. Medical benefits: Employer pays 50% of premiums. Dental: Employer pays 50% of premiums. Sick leave: 1 1/2 working days per month worked to a maxi- mum of 215 days. LTD: Employer pays 50% of premiums. Life insurance: Employer pays 50% of premiums. Bereavement leave: 5 days for employee's parent, steppar- ent, spouse, child, stepchild or ward of the employee. 3 days for employee's brother, sister, stepbrother, stepsister, grandchild, grandparent, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law or any relative permanently re- siding with the employee. Seniority – recall rights: 18 months. Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours' pay. Probationary period: 675 hours worked from the date of the completion of the orienta- tion period. Probation can be extended for 150 hours. Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months. Severance: Employees must have 5 or more years of con- tinuous service to be eligible. 75 hours' pa for each 1950 hours of service to a maximum of 975 hours. Mileage: $6 daily allowance or mileage reimbursement at the per kilometre rates established by the provincial government, whichever is greater, for em- ployees operating their own vehicle. Sample rates of pay (current, after 1% increase): RN I: $30.31 per hour rising in 6 steps to $38.05 RN II: $30.78 rising in 6 steps to $39.58 RN III: $33.29 rising in 6 steps to $42.19 RN IV: $34.51 rising in 6 steps to $44.46 NP: $45.12 rising in 6 steps to $52.60 Editor's notes: Casual retired nurse incentive: $500 bonus to any retired RN who returns to casual employment. Split shifts: There will be no split shifts unless mutually agreed between the employee and employer. Standby pay: $3 per hour. Family illness leave: 5 paid days per illness to a maximum of 15 days per year. A medical certificate signed by a qualified medical practitioner is required when leave exceeds 1 day per illness. Education fund: The Education Fund is funded by the employer. $350,000 will be distributed effective July 1, 2016. $350,000 will be distributed effective July 1, 2017. Maternity/parental/adoption leave: Up to 52 unpaid weeks. Birth or adoption: 2 paid days. Storm clo- sures: The employer will not close due to storm conditions and employees are expected to report for duty and remain at their work stations without exception.
