4 Canadian HR Reporter, a Thomson Reuters business 2015 COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS October 26, 2015 COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS FOOD SERVICES National Grocers Ottawa (310 warehouse employees) and Teamsters Canada Local 91 Renewal agreement: Effect- ive March 30, 2015, to March 29, 2020. Signed on March 30, 2015. Wage adjustments: Signing bonus: $1,000 Effective March 2016: 50¢ Effective March 2017: 50¢ Effective March 2019: 50¢ Shift premium: 40¢ per hour for all time worked in the freezer area. 55¢ per hour for all time worked during the afternoon shift. 65¢ per hour for all time worked during the night shift. Paid holidays: 10 days and 1 floating holiday. Vacations with pay: 1 day per month worked to a maximum of 9 days to start, 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 5 years, 4 weeks after 10 years, 4 weeks after 20 years and 6 weeks after 30 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked beyond employee's regular daily scheduled hours. Meal allowance: $5 for break- fast and $18 for dinner when a layover is necessary during an employee's travels. Vision: $200 every 2 years per employee and spouse. $200 per year for children under 16 years of age and every 2 years for children over the age of 16. Seniority – recall rights: 18 months. Severance: If a branch is closed before the expiry of the collective agreement, the employer will pay employees with more than 5 years of con- tinuous service 1 week's pay for each year of service to a maximum of $5,000. Safety shoes: $100 per year. Uniforms/clothing: Employer pays for uniforms to a max- imum of $750 every 2 years. Gloves are provided to em- ployees on an exchange basis. Tool allowance: $250 per year. Drivers can, however, pick up other company transport drivers on the high- way who are broken down. Jury duty: Employees required to serve on a jury will be compensated for days actually spent on jury duty that would otherwise have been spent at work. GOVERNMENT City of Lloydminster Lloydminster, Alta. (150 employees) and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 1015 Renewal agreement: Effect- ive April 1, 2015, to Dec. 31, 2018. Wage adjustments: Effective Jan. 1, 2015: 3% Effective Jan. 1, 2016: 2.75% Effective Jan. 1, 2017: 2.75% Effective Jan. 1, 2018: 2.75% Shift premium: $1.25 for all hours worked between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. $1.75 for lead hands. Paid holidays: 11 days. Time and one-half on a recognized holiday. Vacations with pay: 3 weeks to start, 4 weeks after 5 years, 5 weeks after 10 years, 6 weeks after 15 years. 1 additional day when a paid holiday occurs during an employee's vacation period. Overtime: Time and one-half for first 2 hours worked be- yond 8 in one day. Double time for all hours worked beyond that. Sick leave: 1.25 days earned per month of employment, up to 120 days. Life insurance: Double annual basic salary, premiums shared equally by employer and em- ployee. Pension: City pension plan. No other details available. On retirement, in addition to regular pension benefit, em- ployees will receive lump sum equivalent to 50% of unused accumulated sick leave and accident benefit. Bereavement leave: 3 days for the death of an employee's husband, wife, common-law spouse, child, father, mother, sister, brother, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, father-in-law, mother-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, step parent or step child. 2 additional days when the funeral is more than 720 km beyond Lloydminster limits.
