AD&D: Employer pays 50% of premiums. Life insurance: Employer pays 50% of premiums. Bereavement leave: 5 days for the death of employee's parent, spouse, brother, stepbrother, sister, stepsister, child, father- in-law, mother-in-law, brother- in-law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandparent or grandchild. 1 day for death of employee's uncle, aunt, nephew or niece. Additional 2 days when the ceremony occurs out- side the province. 1 unpaid day to attend funeral as pallbearer, flower-bearer or reader. Seniority – recall rights: 1 year. Probationary period: 520 hours worked. Can be extended for an additional 80 hours. Discipline: Sunset clause 15 months. Severance: Employees with at least 36 months of continuous service are eligible for sever- ance pay to be made following the completion of the 8-month recall period. Severance will be calculated on the basis of 1 week's pay per year of continu- ous service to a maximum of 12 weeks. Safety shoes: $100 per year for employees in the engineering, housemen, TCC housemen, kitchen, stewarding and bell- man departments.
