Paid holidays: 11 days. Vacations with pay: 1 day per month to a maximum of 10 to start, 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 3 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 8 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for hours worked over 7.5 hours a day or 75 hours bi-weekly (ex- cluding meal breaks). Time and one-half for all hours worked if called in within 8 hours of regu- lar shift ending. Time and one- half for working on holiday. Medical benefits: Unlimited for expenses incurred in Cana- da. $20,000 per person per year for expenses outside Canada. No deductible for hospital or out-of-country emergency ex- penses, but $15 per person or per family will apply to other eligible expenses. 100% reim- bursement for out-of-country emergency expenses, 80% after deductible for all other eligible expenses. Dental: 100% reimbursement for basic dental services includ- ing maintenance check-ups, fillings, X-rays, oral surgery, endodontics, periodontics, denture repairs. Paramedical: $7.50 cap on dispensing fee per prescription. $20 per visit, up to $100 per year for a clinical psychologist. $4 per visit up to $100 per year for a naturopath. $100 per per- son or $100 per family per year for private duty nurse. Sick leave: One shift of regu- lar hours worked earned for every 150 hours worked up to a maximum of 225 hours. Doc- tor's note required after 2 days' absence. Life insurance: $20,000 until termination of employment, retirement or age 65, which- ever comes first (previously $10,000). Bereavement leave: 5 days with pay for death of parents, spouse (including common- law or same-sex spouse), chil- dren, stepchildren, siblings, or grandchildren. 3 days with pay for death of grandparents, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, or legal guardian. 2 unpaid days for travel. Seniority – recall rights: 1 year. Probationary period: 450 hours worked (previously 488). Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years, providing no other dis- cipline action has been taken against employee in that time. Sample rates of pay (current, after 2.75% increase): Receptionist: $14.72 Senior receptionist: $16.22 Housekeeping, laundry, di- etary/dishwasher, janitor: $14.72 Cook: $22.41 Recreation aide: $19.77 Bus driver: $18.44 Maintenance: $18.58 Editor's notes: Personal leave: 6 unpaid weeks. Educational leave: Applied for 1 month in advance and must indicate date of return. Employee may work on temporary basis during this time. Maternity leave: 1 unpaid year. Adoption leave: 1 unpaid year. Compassionate care leave: 6 unpaid weeks to care for immediate family member who is dying or at risk of death within 6 months. TRANSPORTATION Sentinel Airport Logistics (Castlegar Airport) Castelgar, B.C. (4 mechanics) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 1003 Renewal agreement: Effec- tive April 1, 2016, to March 31, 2020. Signed on April 1, 2016. Wage adjustments: Effective April 2017: 2% Effective April 2018: 3% Effective April 2019: 3% Paid holidays: 12 days. Vacations with pay: 1.6 hours per week or 4% to start, 3 weeks or 6% after 1 year, 4 weeks or 8% after 8 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 15 years, 6 weeks or 12% after 22 years, 7 weeks or 14% after 25 years. Overtime: Double time for overtime hours. Time and one- half if employee doesn't get 2 consecutive days of rest after 6 days of shifts. Time and one- half with a day off in lieu, or double time and one-half with no day off, if regular schedule falls on a holiday. Meal allowance: $15 if re- quired to work 4 hours or more of overtime continuous with regular shift. $15 if employee required to work over meal period and has to unexpectedly travel more than 10 miles from the airport. Medical benefits: Employer pays 50% of the benefits with the IBEW Health and Welfare Plan. Sick leave: Provided with pay, not to exceed 10 days or 80 hours in succession. Union in- tervention if over 10 non-con- secutive sick days in one year. Pension: 6% of employees' regular wages contributed by the employer to the Electrical Industry Retirement Plan. Bereavement leave: 4 days with pay for death of parents, father-in-law, mother-in-law, siblings, spouse, or children. 6 days if funeral more than 250 km from employee's home. 1 day with pay for brother-in-law, sister-in-law or grandparent. Seniority – recall rights: 2 years. Call-in pay: Applicable over- time rate for hours worked or 4 hours' straight time, whatever is greater. Time and one-half or minimum of 4 hours' pay for employee on standby. Probationary period: 3 months. Severance: 2 weeks' pay for first year of employment and 1 week for each additional year. Uniforms/clothing: $500 per year. Mileage: $15 if using public transportation when called in to work outside regular hours. Sample rates of pay (current, after 2% increase): Site supervisor: $38.18 Airfield technicians/Journey- man mechanic: $34.27 Summer student: $18.50 Office: $18.50 Sunset clause is 2 years, providing no other discipline action has been taken against the employee in that time. Severance of 2 weeks' pay for first year of employment, 1 week for each additional year.
