5 Canadian HR Reporter, a Thomson Reuters business 2017 CANADIAN LABOUR REPORTER COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS SOCIAL ASSISTANCE Skookum Jim Friendship Centre Whitehorse (13 outreach coordinator, shelter workers) and Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) Renewal agreement: Effec- tive Feb. 17, 2017, to March 31, 2019. Signed on April 27, 2017. Wage adjustments: Effective April 1, 2017: 2% Effective April 1, 2018: 2% Shift premium: $0.50 per hour when working between the following hours: Friday from 4 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.; Saturday from midnight to midnight; Sunday from midnight to mid- night; Monday from midnight to 9 a.m. Holiday season pre- mium pay: Employees required to work on holidays will be paid time and one-half. Maximum 3 days — excluding the desig- nated paid holidays — in Dec. 25 to 31 period. Paid holidays: 13 days. Vacations with pay: 1.66 days per month after 1 year, 2 days per month after 3 years and 1 month, 2.25 days per month after 5 years and 1 month, 2.5 days per month after 7 years and one month. Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. May be banked, maxi- mum 40 hours. Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Sick leave: 0.7 of day per month. May be carried over year-to-year, maximum 30 days accumulated. STD: Employee pays 100% of premiums. AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Pension: Employer will match contributions to employee reg- istered retirement savings plan: Year 1: 2% of pay; years 2,3,4: 3% of pay; year 5: 3% of pay plus $200 contribution; years 6,7,8,9: 3% of pay; year 10: 3% of pay plus $1,000 contribution; years 11 and thereafter:3% of pay. Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate fam- ily (father, mother, stepfather, stepmother, foster-parent, grandparent, grandchild, sister, brother, stepsister, stepbrother, partner, child, stepchild, part- ner's child, foster-child, partner of employee's child, stepchild, partner's child or foster-child, partner's parent, brother-in- law, sister-in-law, any person residing with employee at time of death or imminent death, any person for whom employee has formally declared respon- sibility of care and support). 3 additional days for travel out of Whitehorse. 2 additional weeks, without pay, if requested. Seniority – recall rights: 18 months. Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours' pay at overtime rate. Probationary period: 975 hours or 6 months, whichever occurs first. Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months. Severance: For employees with more than 10,000 hours' ser- vice: 1/4 of employee's average weekly pay for 12 months pre- ceding, multiplied by number of completed years of service, less any severance bonus previously received. Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 4% increase): Outreach coordinator Start: $26.16 rising 2 steps to $27.21 After 1 year: $27.85 rising 2 steps to $28.96 After 2 years: $29.08 rising 2 steps to $30.25 Shelter worker Start: $22 rising 2 steps to $22.88 After 1 year: $22.50 rising 2 steps to $23.40 After 2 years: $23.25 rising 2 steps to $24.18 Editor's notes: Civil liability: Employees will be covered by directors' and officers' liability insurance policy. PSAC Social Justice Fund: Employer will contribute $0.01 per hour worked per employee to fund. CONSTRUCTION Rodmen Employer Bargaining Agency Provincewide, Ontario (1,700 construction workers) and International Association of Bridge, Structural, Ornamental and Reinforcing Iron Workers Renewal agreement: Effective May 1, 2016, to April 30, 2019. Signed on April 25, 2016. Paid holidays: 10 days. Vacations with pay: 10% pay. Overtime: Double time for all work after 12:01 a.m. on Satur- days, Sundays and recognized holidays. Meal allowance: Hot meal will be provided for overtime more than 2 hours and each subse- quent 4 hours thereafter. Medical benefits: Iron Work- ers Central Welfare Fund. Employer will contribute $3.80 per hour (previously $3.44 per hour) for Windsor, London, Sarnia, Hamilton, Thunder Bay, Ottawa, Sudbury employees and $3.10 per hour (previously $2.85 per hour) for Toronto employees. Pension: Ironworkers Ontario Pension Fund. Employer will contribute $7.30 per hour (pre- viously $7.01 per hour; $6.80 per hour for Toronto) for Wind- sor, London, Sarnia, Hamilton, Thunder Bay, Ottawa, Sudbury, Toronto employees. Uniforms/clothing: Employer will supply work gloves, pliers, reels at cost. Tool allowance: Rodman will furnish: pliers, belt and belt as- sembly, reel, tape. Mileage: $0.46 per kilometre for London only. Sample rates of pay (current, after 3.5% increase): Local 700 Windsor/London: $53.56 rising 3 steps to $55.48 Sarnia: $54.08 rising 3 steps to $56.30 Local 721 Toronto: $54.46 ris- ing 3 steps to $56.37 Local 736 Hamilton: $54.22 ris- ing 3 steps to $56.14 Local 759 Thunder Bay: $53.96 rising 3 steps to $$55.88 Local 765 Ottawa: $53.54 rising 3 steps to $55.46 Local 786 Sudbury: $53.37 ris- ing 3 steps to $55.29 Editor's notes: Equipment insurance: Employer will maintain insurance to cover employee's clothing and tools, while on company property, or in company change houses, against loss or damage by fire, or theft by forcible entry, maximum $600 per employee. $1,000 per employee for staying in a camp. Coroner's inquest allowance: Employee who is required to attend coroner's inquest into job-site fatality and does not get paid for time required to attend in- quest will be paid $150 per day, maximum 2 days.
