Effect- ive Jan.1, 2018: $1.49 per hour. $25 per month for employees who have been requested to ob- tain Alberta vehicle-inspection certificate. Effective Jan.1, 2018: $25.44 per month. Paid holidays: 11 days, plus 1 civic holiday in communities in which it is declared. 4 flex days per year. Vacations with pay: 3 weeks to start, 4 weeks after 7 years, 5 weeks after 16 years, 6 weeks after 24 years. Overtime: Double time for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. May be banked, maximum 5 days at any given time, maximum cumula- tive 10 days per year. Meal allowance: When work- ing 2 hours overtime, reason- able meal will be provided in third hour and every 4 hours thereafter. Pension: Employer will pay $3.60 per hour per employee into Labourer's Pension Fund of Central and Eastern Canada. $5.10 per hour will be paid for all overtime hours. Bereavement leave: 4 days for death of wife, child, moth- er, father. 3 days for death of brother, sister. 1 day for death of grandmother, grandfather, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew. Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours' pay. Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide rain suits, rubber boots, when required. Tool allowance: When tools are damaged or destroyed by fire or lost by theft when in place of storage and under em- ployers' lock and key, liability will not exceed value of tools or $150 whichever is less. Mileage: $0.45 per kilometre for all work outside 35-kilo- metre radius of Saint John, Sussex, St. Andrews, Gage- town. $100 per worked room and board for all work outside 80-kilometre radius, plus trav- elling time, maximum 8 hours at start and finish of employ- ment. Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after increase): Labourers: $18.74 rising 2 steps to $20.15 Mason helper (tender): $22.72 rising 2 steps to $23.58 Editor's notes: Shelter: Employer — on any job where 5 or more employees work — will provide sanitary and sepa- rate place of shelter where employees may change clothes and eat lunch. Tables and benches will be provided and shelter will be heated during cold weather. Standby allowance: $37.70 for normal day, $98.46 for day of rest or holiday.
