(15 technicians, operators, labourers) and the United Steel, Paper and Forestry, Rubber, Manufacturing, Energy, Allied Industrial and Service Workers International Union (USW), Local 2009 Renewal agreement: Effective March 1, 2016, to Feb. 28, 2019. Signed on Aug. 22, 2016. Wage adjustments: Effective March 1, 2016: 2% Effective March 1, 2017: 2% Effective March 1, 2018: 2% Shift premium: $0.35 per for level 1 first-aid certificate. $1 per hour (previously $0.75 per hour) for level 2 first-aid certifi- cate. $1.25 per hour for working 12-hour night shift. $1.75 per hour for working 8-hour night shift. $1.25 per hour for work- ing 8-hour afternoon shift. $1.25 per hour for lead hands. Paid holidays: 14 days. Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 3 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 7 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 14 years, 6 weeks or 12% after 18 years, 7 weeks or 14% after 30 years. Employees hired after March 2, 1994, will receive maximum 5 weeks' vacation. Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or on Saturdays. Double time for work on Sundays. Meal allowance: 1 paid hour for supper when working more than 3 hours of overtime. Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for Armtec Flex Group Benefits Program. Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums. STD: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 70% of salary, maximum $8,000 per month, maximum 17 weeks. LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums. AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums for 1-times annual earnings. Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for 1-times annual earnings (previously $50,000). Pension: Employer pays into Armtec group RRSP. After 1 year of service: 3%; after 6 years of service: 4%; after 11 years of service: 5%; after 20 years of service: 6%. Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (par- ents, parents-in-law, spouse, children, grandparents, broth- ers, sisters); 1 day if employee doesn't attend funeral. 5 days for travel outside Prince George area to attend funeral. Seniority - recall rights: 6 months if less than 12 months' seniority. 12 months after 12 months' seniority. 24 months after 60 months' seniority. Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours' pay. Probationary period: 60 days worked. Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months. Severance: 1 week's pay per year of service, for less than 5 years of service. 2 weeks' pay per year of service, after 5 years of service. Safety shoes: $180 per year (previously $150 per year) for purchase of CSA-approved safety shoes. Employer will sup- ply steel-toed rubber boots to forklift operators. Employer will pay 100% for metatarsal protec- tion for employees working a steel mill operators, fabricators, maintenance. Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide weekly coverall ser- vice for employees. Employer will provide insulated coveralls to forklift operators for winter period. Employer will provide and replace glovers when re- quired. Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 4% increase): Production technician - senior: $31.05 rising 2 steps to $32.30 Machine operator - senior: $27.50 rising 2 steps to $28.61 Fabricator - senior: $25.66 ris- ing 2 steps to $26.69 Machine operator - intermedi- ate/materials handler/forklift operator: $25.03 rising 2 steps to $26.04 Fabricator - associate/ machine operator - associate: $24.09 ris- ing 2 steps to $25.06 General labourer: $19 rising 2 steps to $19.77 Editor's notes: Vacation bonus: If employee takes vacation between Nov. 1 and March 31, bonus of $150 per week will be paid. If employee takes vacation between Nov. 1 and March 31, and did not take vacation between June 1 and Aug. 31, bonus of $250 per week will be paid. Safety glasses: Employer will provide 1 pair of standard, non-corrective safety glasses, when required. Employer will reimburse employee maximum $200 per pair, when employee purchases own glasses. Humanity fund: Employer will deduct $20 per employee every Oct. 1, to pay into United Steelworkers' humanity fund. HEALTH CARE Grace Villa Nursing Home Hamilton, Ont. (220 RPNs, health-care aides, cooks) and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Local 1 Renewal agreement: Effective Sept. 22, 2016, to Sept. 21, 2019. Signed on May 10, 2017. Shift premium: $0.28 per hour employees who rotate over 2 or more shifts. $0.35 per hour (previously $0.30 per hour) for work between 11 p.m. Friday and 11 p.m. Sunday. $8 per shift (previously $7.50 per shift) when employer temporarily as- signs employee to work outside bargaining unit more than one- half of shift. $8.50 per shift (pre- viously $8 per shift) when RN is absent and employer assigns RPN to carry out additional duties. $1.50 per hour when employee is assigned to ori- ent newly hired worker. $0.15 per hour for personal-support worker certificate or activity- aide certificate. $0.10 per hour for dietary aides who have com- pleted college food-service- worker training program Paid holidays: 10 days, plus 2 float holidays (may not be taken between Dec. 15 and Jan. 15). Vacations with pay: 1 day per month, maximum 10 days to start, 15 days after 3 years, 20 days after 8 years, 25 days after 15 years, 30 days after 22 years, 35 days after 28 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 7.5 hours per day or 75 hours per biweekly period. Meal allowance: 2 full meals if employee required to work extra continuous full shift as overtime. Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP). Dental: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums for Blue Cross #9 (or its equivalent). Maximum $2,000 per insured person per year. Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage or $275 (previously $250 every 2 years) every 2 years. Effective Sept. 22, 2018: $300 every 2 years. Dentures, crowns and braces (for children up to 18) subject to 50% co-insurance. Sick leave: 3 days after proba- tion ends, 7.5 hours per 162.5 hours, maximum 105 hours.
