Wage adjustments: Effective April 1, 2016: 1.25% Effective April 1, 2017: 1.5% Effective April 1, 2018: 1.5% Shift premium: $1.25 per hour for work between 4 p.m. and midnight. $1.50 per hour for work between midnight and 8 a.m. $0.75 per hour for work on weekends beginning 4 p.m. Fri- day and 8 a.m. Monday. Paid holidays: 14 days. Vacations with pay: 12 hours per 173 hours worked to start, 14 hours per 173 hours worked after 6,000 hours worked, 16 hours per 173 hours worked after 10,000 hours worked, 18 hours per 173 hours worked after 18,000 hours worked, 20 hours per 173 hours worked af- ter 28,000 hours worked. Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per 24-hour period or 40 hours per week. May be taken as leave, maximum 10 days. Medical benefits: Employer contributes 6% per pay into self- directed benefits plan which can be used for dental work, vision care, prescription drugs, vaccinations, orthotics, medi- cally recommended devices or equipment, licenced holistic therapists, habilitation and rehabilitation services, chiro- practic services, life-insurance premiums, individual long- term disability policy, medically related travel expenses not cov- ered by other agencies, counsel- ling, health or fitness member- ships and services. Sick leave: 9 hours per 173 hours worked. Pension: Employer contributes 2%, employee contributes 2% to group RSP. Bereavement leave: 4 days for death in family (father, mother, stepfather, stepmother, foster-parent, grandparent, grandchild, sister, brother, stepsister, stepbrother, partner, child, stepchild, partner's child, partner of employee's child, stepchild, partner's child, part- ner' s parent, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, brother-in law or sister-in-law, any person resid- ing with employee at the time of death or imminent death, cousin, step-grandparents, step-aunt, step-uncle). Addi- tional day on separate occasion with 24-month period to attend service or potlatch. May be ex- tended up to 2 weeks. Probationary period: 480 hours or 6 months (previously 480 hours only), whichever comes first. Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months. Severance: After working more than 10,000 hours, one-half of employee's weekly pay for pre- vious 12 months multiplied by number of years of service. Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 3% increase): Manager of Kaushee's Place: $34 rising 2 steps to $35.03 Manager of Betty's Haven: $34 rising 2 steps to $35.03 Kaushee's Place second-stage coordinator and senior women's outreach worker: $24.66 rising 2 steps to $25.41 Betty's Haven second-stage co- ordinator: $24.66 rising 2 steps to $25.41 Mother-and-child support worker: $24.66 rising 2 steps to $25.41 Administrative assistant: $24.66 rising 2 steps to $25.41 Transition-home worker: $24.66 rising 2 steps to $25.41 Editor's notes: Transit costs: Where employee's shift starts or ends when Whitehorse bus system is not running, and employee has no means of transportation, employer will contribute $10 toward cost of taxi fare. Yukon bonus: $1,500 per year for employee, $500 per year for any child currently living with employee, maximum 3 children. Employee self-care and wellness: $1,000 per year to undertake quarterly self-care and wellness activities. 6 days off per year for personal wellness leave. Long-service bonus: After 10,000 hours worked or 7 years of service, whichever occurs first, employer will pay 2% of annual base earnings in preceding year. After 18,000 hours worked or 10 years of service, whichever occurs first, employer will pay 4% of annual base earnings in preceding year. Yukon bonus: $1,500 per year for employee, $500 per year per child.
