Signed on Nov. 3, 2017. Wage adjustments: Effective upon signing: 2% Effective May 1, 2018: 1% Effective May 1, 2019: 1% Effective May 1, 2020: 0.5% Effective May 1, 2021: 0.5% Shift premium: 15% of hourly rate if employer desires to put on shifts, other than regular day shift. $1.75 per hour for employees working higher than 40 feet on swing stage, scaffold, ladder, bosun chair or temporary working platform, excluding temporary work- ing platforms that are in good condition, solidly constructed, rigidly fixed to structure by me- chanical means and equipped with mesh fencing to prevent falling. Paid holidays: 11 days. Vacations with pay: 10% per paycheque. Overtime: Time and one-half after 50 hours per week, double time on Sundays, holidays for commercial work. Time and one-half after 40 hours per week or 10 hours per day, dou- ble time on Sundays, holidays for commercial work. Meal allowance: Hot meal will be supplied at end of regular shift. If meal cannot be sup- plied, employer will pay 1 hour overtime and allow 15-minute coffee break. Medical benefits: Employer pays $2.25 per hour for health and welfare benefit. Pension: Employer pays $5.25 per hour for health and welfare benefit. Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (parents, spouse, common- law partner as per provincial statutes, children, brothers, sis- ters, stepbrothers, stepsisters, father-in-law, mother-in-law, grandchildren, grandparents, stepchild, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law). Uniforms/clothing: On all heavy industrial jobs, employer will supply weather-appropriate coveralls, gloves, hard hats, lin- ers and goggles, or any other additional work-wear necessary for employees. Employer will provide hard hat, safety glasses (non-prescription), safety vests, goggles, face shield, safety ear protection, gloves, dust masks. Tool allowance: Employer will replace worker's personal tools when tools are destroyed by fire, lost through theft by forced entry of designated storage place on contractor's premises. Sample rates of hourly pay (current): Carpenter trade helper: $30 Apprentice 1: $31.68 Apprentice 2: $33.37 Apprentice 3: $36.74 Apprentice 4: $40.12 Journeyman carpenter/welder scaffolder: $43.49 Working foreman: $46.87 Non-working foreman: $48.55 General foreman: $50.24 Editor's notes: Industry fund: Employer shall remit $0.60 per person hour worked to Newfoundland Construction Industry Fund. Shift premium: $0.90 per hour (previously $0.88 per hour) for all hours worked on 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. shift (Effective April 1, 2018: $0.92 per hour. Effec- tive April 1, 2019: $0.95 per hour); $1.85 per hour (previ- ously $1.80 per hour) all hours worked on 3:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. shift (Effective April 1, 2018: $1.90 per hour. Effective April 1, 2019: $1.95 per hour); $3.28 per hour (previously $3.19 per hour) for all hours worked on 11:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. night shift (Effective April 1, 2018: $3.37 per hour; Effec- tive April 1, 2019: $3.46 per hour). Paid holidays: 11 days, plus first Friday in March. Vacations with pay: 10 hours per month, maximum 15 days to start, 15 days after 2 years, 20 days after 6 years, 25 days after 16 years, 30 days after 24 years. Personal days: 4 per year. Overtime: Double time for all hours worked in excess of regular daily hours. Triple time for all hours worked on paid holidays (after 7.5 hours for non-shift workers, 8 hours for shift workers). Maintenance employees may bank overtime, maximum of 5 shifts (37.5 hours) per year. Meal allowance: Employer will provide meal after 10 hours of work and on each subsequent 4 hours of work. Medical benefits: Employer will participate in company flex benefit plan which includes life insurance, accidental death, long term disability, extended health, dental and vision care. Pension: Employee may partic- ipate in company pension plan after 3 months of employment. Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (parents, stepparents, brothers, sisters, employee's spouse or common-law spouse, children, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandchildren). 3 days for death of grandparent, spouse's grand- parents, brother-in-law, sister- in-law, aunt, uncle. Seniority – recall rights: 90 days. Probationary period: 180 con- secutive days. Severance: 3 weeks' pay or 112.5 hours at employee's regu- lar rate of pay, plus 3 weeks' pay or 112.5 hours at employee's regular rate of pay for each completed year of service, maximum 52 weeks. Safety shoes: $225 for first pair of CSA-approved safety footwear and 65% of total cost, maximum of $146.25 for second pair of boots per year. Third pair will be reimbursed at 65%, maximum of $146.25. Uniforms/clothing: Employer will supply and launder 3 pairs of coveralls for each employee.
