3 Canadian HR Reporter, a Thomson Reuters business 2018 hour for employees who are first-aid attendants. $0.75 cent per hour for employees who perform as guillotine operator. $0.50 per hour for employee assigned by employer to act as lead-hand. $1 per hour for long- combination vehicle drivers on designated LCV trips. $0.55 per hour for all hours worked be- tween 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. Paid holidays: 11 days, plus 1 floating holiday. Vacations with pay: 4.5% to start, 2 weeks or 4.5% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6.5% after 2 years, 4 weeks or 8.5% after 7 years, 5 weeks or 10.5% after 15 years, 6 weeks or 12.5% after 24 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week, double time for all work after 12 hours per day. May be banked, maximum 24 hours; any unused hours will be paid out at end of year. Meal allowance: $9 after work- ing 2 hours beyond regular 8-hour shift or for 2 hours be- fore start of regular 8-hour shift or for more than 4 hours' work on Saturday. Medical benefits: Employer pays 90% of premiums, employ- ees pay 10% of premiums. Effec- tive Feb. 1, 2019: Employer pays 85% of premiums, employees pay 15% of premiums. Dental: Employer pays 90% of premiums, employees pay 10% of premiums. 80% for basic den- tal services. 50% for prosthetics, crowns, bridges. 50% for ortho- dontics, maximum $2,300 per person. Vision: $200 every 2 years. STD: 66.67% of employee's straight-time rate, maximum 52 weeks. LTD: Employer pays 70% of premiums, employees pay 30% of premiums for coverage of 50% of employee's straight-time rate. AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $80,000. Pension: For employees hired up to and including June 11, 2010, plan is DB. For employ- ees hired on or after June 12, 2010, plan is DC. For DC plan, employee contributes 3% mini- mum, employer matches con- tributions, maximum 4%. Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of spouse, son, daugh- ter. 3 days for death of other immediate family members (mother, father, legal guardian, brothers, sisters, stepchildren, mother-in-law, father-in-law, stepparents, grandparents, grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law). Seniority – recall rights: 6 months with less than 1 year of service; 1 year, plus 1 month per year of service, maximum 12 months, after 1 year of service. Probationary period: 90 work- ing days. Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months. Severance: After 1 year of service: 1 week's pay per year of service, maximum 35 weeks' pay. Safety shoes: $150 per year for 1 pair of approved safety foot- wear. May be deferred, maxi- mum $300. Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide all employees with necessary protective clothing. Employer will provide work gloves as required for employ- ees engaged in warehouse work. Employer will provide mandatory clothing each year for drivers: 1 winter/summer combo-jacket, 5 shirts (employ- ee-option long/short sleeves), 3 pants (employee-option pants/ shorts), maximum 2 hats per year by request, maximum 2 toques per year by request, win- ter gloves as needed, by request. Employer will provide man- datory clothing each year for non-driving employees: 5 shirts (employee-option long/short sleeves), 1 sweater or jacket for warehouse workers, (receivers only) 1 winter/summer combo jacket and winter gloves as needed, by request. Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 4% increase): Warehouse specialist (end- rate): $27.65 rising 2 steps to $28.77 Shipper/dispatch: $28.41 rising 2 steps to $29.56 Receiver: $28.13 rising 2 steps to $29.26 Class 1 driver: $30.01 rising 2 steps to $31.22 Class 5 driver (with air): $27.92 $28.48 $29.05 Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 1% increase): Pick and pack/kitting: $18 ris- ing 2 steps to $20 Sample rates of hourly pay (current): Vacation relief/casual employ- ees: $20 Ratification signing bonus: Employees will receive 1-time bonus of $500 (previously $425) within 30 days of ratification of agreement. Editor's notes: First-aid attendants: First-aid attendants will be present on all shifts and will be members of bar- gaining unit. Employer will pay for fees, textbooks and lost time of all first-aid attendants who successfully complete course. Paid education leave: Employer will pay $1,200 per year into fund to provide for Unifor-paid education leave program. TRANSPORTATION Cardinal Couriers Putnam, Ont. (20 drivers, operators, administrators, warehouse employees) and Teamsters, Local 879 Renewal agreement: Effective Dec. 16, 2017, to Dec. 15, 2019. Signed on Jan. 14, 2018. Shift premium: $1.50 per hour (previously $0.50 per hour) night premium for utility cour- iers. $1.50 per hour night pre- mium for drivers engaged as P and D night drivers. $1 per hour for lead-hands. Paid holidays: 9 days. Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 10 years. Overtime: Paid after 55 hours per week for P and D drivers, af- ter 40 hours per week for ware- house, forklift operator and ops administrators, after 60 hours per week for line-haul drivers. Sick leave: 3 days per year. May not be carried over year to year, will not be paid out if unused. Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (em- ployee's spouse or common-law partner, employee's father and mother and spouse or com- mon-law partner of father or mother, employee's children and children of employee's spouse or common-law part- ner, employee's grandchildren, employee's bothers and sisters, grandfather and grandmother of employee, father and moth- er of spouse or common-law partner of employee and spouse or common-law partner of father or mother, any relative of employee who resides with employee). Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide uniforms upon completion of probationary period for full-time driver. Drivers will receive 5 shirts, 3 pairs of pants including shorts, 1 3-in-1 jacket, 1 hat. Employer will contribute $350 per year for replacement of uniform in- cluding safety boots, maximum 1 pair per contract year, max- imum $100.
