5 Canadian HR Reporter, a Thomson Reuters business 2018 CANADIAN LABOUR REPORTER COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS FOOD PRODUCTION Fleischmann's Yeast Calgary Calgary (22 production employees, millwrights, electricians, engineers) and the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE), Local 955 Renewal agreement: Effective May 1, 2018, to Dec. 31, 2022. Ratified on April 30, 2018. Signed on June 22, 2018. Shift premium: $0.75 per hour for afternoon shift; $1.20 per hour for night shift. Effective Jan. 1, 2022: $0.85 per hour for afternoon shift; $1.45 per hour for night shift. Paid holidays: 11 days, plus 1 floating holiday. Vacations with pay: 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 4 years (for employees attaining seniority before May 1, 2018), 3 weeks after 5 years, 4 weeks after 10 years, 5 weeks after 15 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after daily schedule of hours. Double time after 10 hours per day. Time and one- half for first 10 hours on Satur- day. Double time for all work on Sunday. Meal allowance: $15 after more than 2 hours of overtime in conjunction with regular shift. Medical benefits: Employer pays 80% of premiums, em- ployee pays 20% of premiums. Employer pays maximum $92 for family coverage, $46 for sin- gle coverage for Alberta Health Care Insurance premiums. Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (par- ent, spouse, child, grandchild, grandparent, sister, brother, mother-in-law, father-in-law). 1 day for death of spouse's broth- er, sister. 1 additional week, without pay, if funeral is outside of Calgary. Seniority – recall rights: One- half of employee's length of service or 6 months, whichever is less; 12 months after 5 years of service. Call-in pay: Minimum of 4 hours' pay at regular hourly rate or applicable premium rate for time worked, whichever is greater. Probationary period: 18 con- secutive weeks of employment. Severance: 1 1/2 weeks per year of service, maximum 40 weeks, after 1 year of service. Safety shoes: $155 for ap- proved pair of safety shoes or boots. Effective Jan. 1, 2019: $175. Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide and launder work clothing for all employees (cotton-based for maintenance and engineers). Protective cold-weather clothing will be held in plant store room and may be drawn by employees as- signed to work in cold areas or outdoors in cold weather. Tool allowance: $500 per year for employees who are classi- fied as tradespersons, including engineers. Attendance bonus: Full-time employees will accumulate 1 3/4 days (may be used to cover for illness) for each quarter per year for not being absent from work, maximum 5 days. Any subsequent days will be paid out as cash bonus. TERMINAL ELEVATORS Lakehead Terminal Elevators Association (Richardson International/Superior Elevator ULC/Viterra) under Bay, Ont. (250 technicians, operators, inspectors, electricians, millwrights) and the United Steel Workers (USW), Lodge 650 Renewal agreement: Effective Feb. 1, 2017, to Jan. 31, 2020. Signed on Dec. 19, 2017. Shift premium: $0.80 per hour for employee required to work on shift other than regular or special day-shift. $0.40 per hour when employee is appointed to supervisory work as working leader. Paid holidays: 12 days. Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% to start, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 10 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 15 years, 6 weeks or 12% after 24 years, 7 weeks or 14% after 30 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for all work during scheduled lunch period; after regular 8-hour shift (maximum 3 hours); for first 8 hours on Sat- urday. Double time for all work after 3 hours of overtime; after 8 hours on Saturday; on Sunday or holiday.
