Paid holidays: 11 days, plus 2 float days. Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 10 years, 5 weeks or 10% after 15 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 or 10 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Double time after 4 hours of overtime. May be taken as time off in lieu, must be taken within 3 months. May be banked, maximum 40 hours, will be paid out on Dec. 31 if not used. Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of current spouse, partner, common-law partner, child, parent. 3 days for death of grandparents, siblings, current parents-in-law, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, any relative currently living with employee or dependent upon employee for care. Seniority – recall rights: 1 month per month of service, maximum 12 months after 12 months of service. Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours' pay at time and one-half em- ployee's base hourly rate. Time starts from when employee leaves home until employee re- turns home. Probationary period: 120 working days. Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for written warnings; 18 months for suspensions. Safety shoes: $185 per year. Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide required PPE for all employees. Employer will sup- ply employees with uniforms (minimum of 11 (previously minimum of 12)), plus 1 insu- lated coverall, 1 winter jacket, winter gloves and hats. Items will be cleaned, repaired or re- placed as necessary at no cost to employee. Tool allowance: Employer will provide maximum $35,000 for tool and tool-box insurance per mechanic, apprentice mechanic and lube attendant to cover loss of any tools due to break-in at employer's premises or em- ployer's vehicle used on service call. Tool allowance will be paid to all technicians (including lube technicians, apprentice technicians) of 1 hour's pay at base rate, monthly (previously $350 per year for tool and boot allowance). Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 4% increase): JM technician: $39.74 rising 2 steps to $41.34 Trailer technician: $30.19 rising 2 steps to $31.40 PRP: $23.04 rising 2 steps to $23.97 Lube technician: $22 rising 2 steps to $22.89 Editor's notes: Licensing: All licensed technicians must apply for their CVIP (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Pro- gram) license within probationary period. Employer will assist in process and will reimburse direct costs associated with application. On-call: Off-work employees assigned after hours on-call responsibility for closed shop hours will receive 10 hours of pay at employee's regular rate. Payment includes all telephone handling. For each statutory holi- day that shop is closed and employee is on-call, employee will receive extra 3 hours of pay at employee's straight-time rate. Safety glasses: Employer will provide OHS-compliant prescription-safety glasses to employees as needed, free of charge. Training: If employees leave regular station to attend training away from Calgary Metro area, employees will receive straight-time pay for traveling time. Any time (travel or training) in excess of regular shift will be paid for at time and one-half. NUCLEAR RESEARCH Canadian Nuclear Laboratories Pinawa, Man. (26 lead-hand labourers/janitors, labourers/janitors, industrial diamond-drill operators, tractor operators) and United Steel, Paper and Forestry, Rubber, Manufacturing, Energy, Allied Industrial and Service Workers International Union (USW), Local 7806 Renewal agreement: Effec- tive April 1, 2017, to March 31, 2022. Signed on Feb. 1, 2018. Shift premium: $1.25 per hour (previously $0.83 per hour) to shift employees for each hour worked during eve- ning shift. $1.03 per hour to shift employees for each hour worked on Saturdays, as well as evening-shift differential, where applicable. $2.50 per hour to shift employees for each hour worked on Sundays, as well as evening shift differential, where applicable. $4 for each half-day employee uses respirator. Paid holidays: 9 days, plus 3 floating holidays. Vacations with pay: 1 1/4 days per month to start, 15 days after 6 months years, 16 days after 6 years, 17 days after 7 years, 18 days after 8 years, 19 days after 9 years, 20 days after 10 years, 21 days after 14 years, 22 days after 16 years, 23 days after 18 years, 24 days after 20 years, 25 days after 22 years, 26 days after 23 years, 27 days after 25 years, 28 days after 27 years, 29 days after 29 years, 30 days after 31 years. May be carried over into following year, maximum 1 year's entitlement. Overtime: Time and one-half for all work on Saturday, double time after 8 hours. Double time for all work on Sunday. Double time for all work after 16 hours per day and after 10 hours of overtime per week. Meal allowance: $15 (previ- ously $13) when employee works more than 90 minutes which extends into normal meal period. $15 (previously $13) after 5 hours of overtime. Medical benefits: Employer pays 75%) of monthly premi- ums, employee pays 25% of premiums for medical, hospital benefits provided through extended health care plan, cur- rently insured through Manu- life, for subscribing employees. Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums for CNL corporate dental plan. Sick leave: 6 days per year, unused days will be carried for- ward to following year. Maxi- mum 10 days without medical certificate allowed per year. LTD: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums. Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for cover- age of 1 times basic annual earnings. Employee pays 5/6 of premiums, employer pays 1/6 or premiums for additional coverage of 1 times basic annual earnings. Pension: Employees must par- ticipate in mandatory Canadian Energy and Related Industries Pension Plan. Employer con- tributes 9%, employee contrib- utes 9%. Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate family (spouse, common-law part- ner, father, mother, spouse or common-law partner of father or mother, foster-parents of employee or employee's spouse or common-law partner, chil- dren, children of employee's spouse or common-law partner, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, grandfather, grandmother of employee, father and mother of spouse or common-law partner of employee, spouse or common-law partner of father and mother, any relative who resides with employee).
