Paid holidays: 12 days. Vacations with pay: 1/12 of 15 days per month to start, 15 days after 1 year, 18 days after 4 years, 23 days after 8 years, 28 days after 16 years, 30 days after 25 years, 33 days after 30 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week for outside employees; 7 hours per day or 35 hours per week for in- side employees. Double time af- ter 3 hours of overtime. Double time for all work after midnight any day and on Sunday. Double time for all work on sixth and seventh days, 5 consecutive days of work. May be taken as time off in lieu. Medical benefits: Employer pays 80% of premiums, em- ployee pays 20% of premiums. Employer pays 80% of pre- miums, employee pays 20% of premiums for B.C. Medical Services Plan. Dental: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums. 100% coverage for basic services. 50% cover- age for prosthetic appliances, crown and bridge procedures. 50% coverage for orthodontics, $2,500 lifetime maximum. Vision: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums. $400 every 2 years for 1 pair of eyeglasses or laser eye surgery. $100 (pre- viously $75) every 2 years for eye examinations for employee, dependants. Sick leave: 1 day per month of service to start; 12 days after 1 year; 18 days after 5 years; 24 days after 15 years. Max- imum accrual 130 days. Life insurance: Employer pays 80% of premiums, employee pays 20% of premiums for coverage of 3 times (previously 2 times) annual salary. Pension: All employees will participate in Municipal Pension Plan. Bereavement leave: 3 days for death of family member (spouse, common-law spouse, parents, children, stepchil- dren, stepparents, brother, sister, in-laws, grandparents, grandchildren, foster-parents, foster-children, same-sex spouse, relative living at same residence as employee). 2 additional days for travel time. One-half day to attend funeral or act as pallbearer. Seniority – recall rights: 12 consecutive months. Call-in pay: 3 hours of pay at rate or time worked plus travel at overtime rate, whichever is greater. Probationary period: 6 con- secutive months. Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months. Safety shoes: Employer will use chit system and contribute $100 per year for footwear required by WorkSafeBC. Uniforms/clothing: Employer will supply through laundry service or direct issue appro- priate coveralls or smocks on as-needed basis. All outside employees will be issued 1 pair of leather gloves or 2 pairs of rubber gloves. Tool allowance: $0.35 per hour to mechanics who are required by employer to provide own hand tools as condition of em- ployment. Employer will also provide $10,000 tool insurance, with $500 deductible.
