(1,200 casino, kitchen employees) and the British Columbia Government and Service Employees' Union (BCGEU) Renewal agreement: Effective Jan. 1, 2018 to Dec. 31, 2021. Signed on Oct. 28, 2019. Wage adjustments: Effective June 1, 2019: 2% Effective June 1, 2020: 2% Effective June 1, 2021: 2% Shift premium: $0.75 per hour for all hours worked between 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. $1.50 premium per hour worked as senior first-aid attendant; $0.75 per hour (previously $0.50 per hour) for all hours worked for employees (other than senior first-aid attendant) with recognized first-aid credentials (level 1, 2, 3). $75 flat rate for attendance at monthly health and safety meeting for committee members. Paid holidays: 11 days. Vacations with pay: 4% to start, 10 days or 4% after 1 year, 15 days or 6% after 5 years, 20 days or 8% after 10 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 or 10 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Double time after 3 hours of overtime on scheduled workday of 8 hours; after 1 hour of overtime on scheduled workday of 10 hours. Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for basic provincial medical plan for employee and families. Employer pays 100% of premiums for extended health- care. Employer will provide $375 for health spending account. Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $300 every 24 months. Sick leave: 4 days per year, may not be banked or carried over from 1 year to next. AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $25,000. Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $25,000. Pension: All employee will join B.C. Target Benefit Pension Plan, after probation. Employer, employee will each contribute $0.30 per hour, maximum 40 hours per week, into plan. Employees may voluntarily contribute more into plan. Bereavement leave: 3 days for death of spouse, parent, guardian, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandparent, sibling, child, grandchild of employee, someone living with employee as member of family (1 additional day without pay when out-of-province travel is required). 1 day for death of aunt, uncle, niece, nephew (additional time, if needed, will be given, without pay). Seniority – recall rights: 12 months for layoffs. Call-in pay: Minimum of 4 hours of pay; minimum 2 hours of pay for overtime call-ins. Probationary period: First 480 hours worked or 3 months with employer provided employee has worked at least 12 shifts in 3-month period, whichever comes first. For table games employees (dealer), during either first 480 hours worked, exclusive of training hours, or 3 months with employer, provided they have worked 36 shifts in 3-month period, whichever comes first. Discipline: Sunset clause is 6 months, provided no further infraction of similar nature. If there has been discipline resulting in suspension, 6-month period will be extended to 12 months. Should there be second infraction within 6- or 12-month time period, new 6- or 12-month time period begins. For every additional infraction of similar nature, new 6- or 12-month period will commence. Safety shoes: $120 per year (after probation) for employees who are required to wear safety-approved footwear in performance of regular duties. Uniforms/clothing: When employer requires uniforms to be worn, uniforms will be supplied to employee at no cost (lost articles will be replaced at employee's expense). Uniforms will be dry cleaned, altered, repaired, replaced at no cost to employee.
