COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS combined maximum $2,500 per person per year. Vision: $400 per 24-month pe- riod, includes laser surgery. Paramedical: $500 per benefit year (services must have been prescribed by physician). Sick leave/STD: 1 week per year of service at full pay, rest of up to 15 weeks at 60%. LTD: Employer pays 100% of premiums. AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for group life insurance. Pension: Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP plan). Bereavement leave: 3 consecu- tive working days with pay for death of sibling, grandparent, grandchild, parent-in-law, child-in-law, sibling-in-law including day of funeral. 2 addi- tional days for death of spouse, parent, child. 1 day for funeral of niece, nephew, aunt, uncle. Employees may apply for addi- tional unpaid leave, which will not be unreasonably withheld. Seniority – recall rights: 18 months for layoffs (24 months for reasons other than layoff ); 1 year for employee who accepts position outside of bargaining unit; 30 months for employee who is absent from work and in receipt of Workplace Safety and Insurance Benefits as result of injury or illness incurred while employed by employer. Call-in pay: Time and one-half for all hours worked. Time and one-half for call-in after regu- larly scheduled tour for mini- mum of 4 hours. Probationary period: 825 hours worked or 8 months, whichever comes first (previ- ously 665 hours or 6 months). Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months. Severance: 1 week for each year of service (when employee has received individual notice of long-term layoff ). Mileage: $0.53 per kilometre for first 5,000 kilometres per year; $0.46 per kilometre for each subsequent kilometre, for employees who use automobile to perform duties for employer. During this time, employees are not entitled to notice of layoff or bumping rights and time used to determine benefits con- tinuance or recall will be frozen. Pre-paid leave: Employees may spread 4 years' salary over 5-year period to enable them to take 1-year leave of absence in fifth year. Citizenship leave: 1 day off with pay to take oath of citizenship at citizenship court. Weekends: Employer must make every reasonable effort to provide employees with 3 out of every 4 weekends off but in no circumstance will employee working normal daily tour be required to work more than 2 out of every 4 weekends without overtime pay. Influenza vaccinations: Employer to cover cost if requiring vaccinations and cost isn't covered by other source. If employee refuses, employee may be placed on unpaid leave of absence or use vacation credits during any influenza out- break. Standby: $3.50 per hour for standby ($4.50 on paid holiday). Hearing aids: $500 every 36 months. Liability insurance: Employer will provide minimum $5,000,000 per incident coverage for employees. MUNICIPAL PARKING Calgary Parking Authority Calgary (130 officers, technicians, electricians, operations, maintenance employees) and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), Sub-Local 38 Renewal agreement: Effec- tive June 1, 2018 to May 31, 2021. Ratified on Sept. 5, 2019. Signed on Nov. 29, 2019. Wage adjustments: Effective June 1, 2018: 0% Effective June 1, 2019: 0.5% Effective June 1, 2020: 1.5% Shift premium: Double time for daily hours worked on first day of changed schedule for employees who are not given minimum of 48 hours' notice of adjustments of schedule. $1.65 per hour for all shifts worked that end between 1 a.m. and 8:01 a.m. $1 per hour for all shifts worked that end between 8 p.m. and 1:01 a.m. 1 hour extra pay, at regular rate, for each Saturday, Sunday shift worked. Paid holidays: 12 days. Vacations with pay: 2 weeks (80 hours) after 1 year, 3 weeks (120 hours) after 2 years, 4 weeks (160 hours) after 8 years, 5 weeks (200 hours) after 18 years, 6 weeks (240 hours) after 25 years. Upon termination, employees will be paid for any accrued vacation not taken. Overtime: Double time for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. May be taken as time off in lieu. May be banked but any hours after 20 accumulated as of Dec. 31 each year will be paid out un- less time off has been sched- uled and approved to be taken after Dec. 31. Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Sick leave: 80 hours, after 1 year of service (time off paid at 80% of regular rate). Unused time may be carried forward, maximum 40 hours. LTD: Employee pays 100% of premiums. AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Pension: Employees become members of Local Authorities Pension Plan. Seniority – recall rights: 12 months for layoffs; 2 years for employee who is transferred outside bargaining unit. Call-in pay: Minimum com- pensation of 1.5 hours at appli- cable overtime rate. Any time spent beyond 1.5 hours will be paid at applicable overtime rate for all time worked. Probationary period: 6 months of continuous service (may be extended, maximum 3 months). Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for record of disciplin- ary action. Severance: 1 week of pay to start; 1 week of pay for each year of service after 1 year of service. 2 weeks of pay in lieu of notice for employee who was laid off without notice, and is not recalled to work within 12 months. Safety shoes: $7 (previously $5) per pay period to employees who are required as condition of employment to buy and wear CSA-approved safety boots.
