COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS day or 44 hours per week. 1/200 of rate of total salary for each day teacher is employed after 200 days per year for teacher who agrees to provide service greater than 200 days per year. Medical benefits: Employer pays 75% of premiums, em- ployee pays 25% of premiums. Dental: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums. Sick leave: Employer will provide 87 hours of wellness time per year. Hours are non- cumulative from year to year and expire at end of year if not used. LTD: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums. Life insurance: Employer pays 75% of premiums, employee pays 25% of premiums. Pension: Employer will de- duct minimum $50 contribu- tion from monthly salary of employee to RRSP; employer will match that amount. Maxi- mum 2% of earnings to start; maximum 5% after 5 years of service. Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family (spouse, common-law spouse, fiancé, legal guardian, child, parent, spouse's parent, step- parent, brother, sister, step- brother, stepsister, brother-in- law, sister-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandfather, grandmother, grand-parent-in- law, grandchild or for special circumstances approved by employer). Requests for ad- ditional unpaid travel time, unpaid additional bereavement leave will be considered by em- ployer on case-by-case basis Seniority – recall rights: 1 year after layoff. Probationary period: 10 months worked for each period of continuous employment from date of hire (may be ex- tended by up to additional 3 months worked) for teachers; 3 months (may be extended by up to additional 3 months worked) for all other new em- ployees. Employer will provide paid orientation period for all new employees during proba- tionary period no later than 7 school days from employee's hire date. Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for discipline excluding suspensions; 18 months for dis- cipline involving suspensions (both exclusive of unpaid leaves of absence). Severance: 1 week after 3 months of service; 2 weeks after 2 years of service; 4 weeks after 4 years or service; 5 weeks after 6 years of service; 6 weeks after 8 years of service; 8 weeks after 10 years of service. Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide protective clothing or equipment when employer determines work performed by employee requires protective clothing or equipment. Mileage: $0.60 per kilometre for employees required to use vehicles for travel in connec- tion with employment.
