COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS years, 5 weeks plus 2 days or 10.8% after 17 years, 5 weeks plus 3 days or 11.2% after 18 years, 5 weeks plus 4 days or 11.6% after 19 years, 6 weeks or 12% after 20 years for em- ployees hired before Sept. 9, 1993. Overtime: 200% for any time worked in excess of scheduled hours in 1 day or in regular workweek. Time may be banked and taken as time off in lieu, maximum 10 banked days per year. Employee will be paid out for any banked overtime in January of following calendar year; banked overtime cannot be carried forward from 1 cal- endar year to next. Meal allowance: Maximum $16 plus 1 paid meal period of one-half hour at prevail- ing rate; thereafter at 4-hour intervals, when employee works more than 2 hours be- yond regular workday. Any unscheduled early morning start before regular starting time entitles employee to 1 paid meal, maximum breakfast limit of $13. Medical benefits: Employer will contribute monthly to B.C. Medical Services Plan and union's health and welfare plan ($302.41 for family; $296.40 for couple; $216.76 for single). Pension: Employer will con- tribute 9.795% of annual earn- ings, employee will contribute 3% of annual earnings to RRSP. Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate fam- ily (parents, spouse, children, brothers, sisters, mother-in- law, father-in-law, grandpar- ents, spouse's grandparents, blood relatives living under same roof ); 5 days if employee has to travel outside province. 3 days for death in immediate family of employee's spouse. Seniority – recall rights: 6 months for promotions, lateral moves outside bargaining unit. Call-in pay: Minimum 2 hours of pay at overtime rates from time employee leaves home until employee arrives back at home. Probationary period: 180 cal- endar days. Severance: 9 days of pay for each year of service to em- ployees who become redun- dant due to automation or introduction of new methods, equipment or organization. Uniforms/clothing: Employer will make available to each employee who is required to climb, initial set of climbing gear (body belt, pole strap, 1 set of climbers). Tool allowance: Employer will replace tools broken or worn out in service of employer. Mileage: $0.40 per direct-line kilometre for travelling time; if transportation is not provided by employer, additional $0.125 per direct-line kilometre for travelling expenses. When employee on standby is called out beyond hours of regular work day, additional work time will be paid at overtime rates. Personal leave days: 6 days per year at 80% (previously 75%) pay per day. Effective March 24, 2021: 85%. Effective March 24, 2022: 90%. Effective March 24, 2023: 100%. Employees may carry forward unused days, maximum 5 banked days, in any 1 calendar year. Educational reimbursement: Employer will reimburse employee's tu- ition, required textbook costs, maximum $1,200 per year, for approved accredited courses. CONTINUING CARE McKenzie Towne Continuing Care Calgary (146 aides, nurses, support services, kitchen staff ) and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), Local 8 Renewal agreement: Effective Nov. 1, 2018 to Oct. 31, 2022. Ratified on Feb. 26, 2020. Signed on May 4, 2020. Wage adjustments: Effective Nov. 1, 2018: 0% Effective Nov. 1, 2019: 0% Effective Nov. 1, 2020: 1% Effective Nov. 1, 2021: 1.25% Shift premium: Time and one-half for all hours worked as licensed practical nurse within 15.5 hour period be- tween scheduled work shifts or changeover of shifts. Time and one-half for all work on first scheduled day off; double time for all work on second and sub- sequent days off (unless em- ployee is given 7 calendar days' notice of change of shift sched- ule). $3.25 per hour (previously $3 per hour) for employee working shift wherein majority of hours fall during 56-hour period beginning at 11 p.m. Friday until 7 a.m. Monday. $3 per hour (previously $2.50 per hour) for employee working shift wherein majority of hours fall between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. $2.25 per hour (previously $2 per hour) to employee work- ing shift wherein majority of hours falls between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m. Paid holidays: 11 days. Vacations with pay: 1 day per month, maximum 10 days, to start, 10 days after 1 year, 15 days after 2 years, 20 days after 6 years, 25 days after 12 years, 30 days after 17 years. Em- ployee may carry over unused vacation from 1 year to next succeeding year, maximum ag- gregate carry-over of 1 week of vacation time. Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked after 7.5 hours in 1 shift or 75 hours biweekly or more than 6 con- secutive days. Time and one- half for all hours worked after 7.75 hours per shift or 77.5 hours per biweekly period for licensed practical nurses. May be taken as time off in lieu no later than 30 days from date overtime was worked. Medical benefits: Employer pays 50% of premiums, em- ployee pays 50% of premiums. Dental: Employer pays 50% of premiums, employee pays 50% of premiums. 100% coverage for basic treatments, including routine examinations once ev- ery 9 months. 50% coverage for major treatments, including endodontics and periodontics, crowns, bridges, major restor- ative procedures.
