COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS POWER SYSTEMS CONSTRUCTION e Electrical Power Systems Construction Association Provincewide, Ontario (1,000 trades workers) and the Carpenters District Council of Ontario (CDC), United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America (UBC) Renewal agreement: Effective May 1, 2020 to April 30, 2025. Ratified in December 2019. Signed on May 1, 2020. Wage adjustments: Effective May 1, 2020: 2% Effective May 1, 2021: 2% Effective May 1, 2022: 2% Effective May 1, 2023: 2% Effective May 1, 2024: 2% Shift premium: $0.55 per hour for employees required to work from bosun chair, swing stage, rope access equipment. $0.45 per hour for employees required to erect or dismantle suspended or free-hanging scaffold. $100 per day for work as diver. 1/7 of normal shift hours worked for employees required to work shift work. 1/5 of normal shift hours worked for third shift of 3-shift operation. Foremen will be 12% above journeyman rate; sub-foremen will be 7% above journeyman rate. $17 per day for employees working in radiation area, in plastic suits or replacement material of fully enveloping type with indepen- dent air supply. Paid holidays: 11 days. Vacations with pay: 3-week leave of absence will be given in calendar in which employee completes 1 year of service and every additional year. In special circumstances, where work schedule permits, additional time off may be given and not unreasonably denied. Meal allowance: Meal or $17 allowance for employees required to work more than 2 hours beyond normal quitting time if not notified previous day. Any extra hours for employees on 10-hour shifts. Pension: Employer-funded pension plan. Seniority – recall rights: 12 months for layoff. Call-in pay: Minimum 4 hours at appropriate premium rate plus travel allowance where applicable. If normal hours of work begin within this 4-hour period, premium pay will revert to normal hourly rate at start of normal hours of work. Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide suitable rainwear when required. Protective clothing, equipment that is provided by employer will be charged out to employee and employee will be responsible for return of clothing and equipment to employer. Em- ployer will supply, maintain appropriate protective cloth- ing, at no cost to employee, on abnormally dirty or corrosive work in which employees' clothes may be permanently damaged. Employees will be is- sued initial allotment of $900 to purchase flame-resistant cloth- ing from approved supplier for which is mandatory on Hydro One construction sites. Tool allowance: When person- al tools valued greater than $15 are lost due to fire, employer will consider full estimated value on merit of each case in determin- ing replacement or payment. Mileage: Daily travel allow- ance for employees who are not receiving room and board, according to distance from home to project. $31.07 (40-to- 56-kilometre radius), $36.10 (57-to-80-kilometre radius), $41.38 (80-to-97-kilometre radius), $47.84 (greater than 97 kilometres radius). Rising each year of agreement. $32 for initial trip to project for tradesmen who live between 97 and 162 ki- lometres from project and $0.33 per kilometre for those who live beyond 162 kilometres from project. $0.40 per kilometre for employees approved to use per- sonal vehicles for convenience of employer. Room and board: For employees whose regular residence is more than 97 kilometres from project, employer may supply room and board in camp or lodging within reasonable distance of project or subsistence allowance.
