COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS Overtime: Time and one-half for all work after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week. Time and one-half for employee who stays immediately after shift. Time may banked and taken as time off in lieu, maximum 40 hours but all unused banked hours will be paid out at end of each fiscal year. Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Sick leave: 0.7 of day per month. Unused credits may be carried over from 1 year to next and may be accumulated, maxi- mum 30 sick days. STD: Employee pays 100% of premiums. AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Pension: Employer will match employee contributions into group RRSP. 2% to start (after 3 months of service); 3% after 2 years; 3%, plus $300 (previously $200) gross pay contribution, after 5 years; 3%, plus $1,200 (previously $1,000) gross pay contribution, after 10 years. Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate family. Maximum 3 additional days for employee who must travel out of Whitehorse. Seniority – recall rights: 6 months for auxiliary on-call employees; 2 years for any period of sick leave, with or without pay, and whether or not employee is in receipt of LTD payments or for any pe- riod of work-related disability leave, with or without pay; 18 months for employee who ac- cepts position with employer that is outside bargaining unit or for layoffs or for resigna- tions. Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours of pay at overtime rate for work resulting in overtime which is less than full shift. Probationary period: 975 hours or 6 months, whichever occurs first. Period may be ex- tended maximum 6 weeks. Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months for records of disci- pline. Severance: 1/4 of employee's average weekly pay for 12 months preceding date of termination, multiplied by number of years of service, less any severance bonus previously received (after 10,000 hours with employer). Sample rates of hourly pay (current, after 5.3% increase): Outreach coordinator Start: $27.21 rising 3 steps to $28.66 After 1 year: $28.96 rising 3 steps to $30.51 After 2 years: $30.25 rising 3 steps to $31.87 Shelter worker Start: $22.88 rising 3 steps to $24.10 After 1 year: $23.40 rising 3 steps to $24.65 After 2 years: $24.18 rising 3 steps to $25.47 Editor's notes: Social justice fund: Employer will contribute $0.01 per hour worked by each employee to PSAC Social Jus- tice Fund. SECURITY Canadian Corps of Commissionaires, Southern Alberta Lethbridge, Alta. (14 security employees) and Teamsters, Local 362 Renewal agreement: Effective Nov. 5, 2020 to Dec. 31, 2022. Ratified on Nov. 5, 2020. Signed on Dec. 8, 2020. (First agree- ment) Shift premium: Employee will receive overtime rate for each 15 minutes that employee is short of 8 hours when em- ployee has shift changed and employee receives less than 8 hours free from duty. Paid holidays: 10 days. Vacations with pay: 4% to start, 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 5 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for all additional hours worked in week or for all hours worked in excess of employee's regu- larly scheduled shift. Time and one-half for all hours worked in excess of average of 42 hours per week over period covered by averaging agreement. Time and one-half for all hours worked after 8 hours per day or 44 hours per week for impound custodian. Medical benefits: Employee pays 100% of premiums for ex- tended health care coverage. Dental: Employee pays 100% of premiums. 80% coverage for level 1 basic services; 80% cov- erage for level 2 supplementary basic services; 50% coverage for level 3 dentures; 50% coverage for level 4 major restorative services. Combined maximum $1,000 per person per year. Vision: 1 eye exam per year; $200 every 2 years for glasses or contacts. Paramedical: $500 per cal- endar year and $50 per year for X-rays for chiropractor. $500 each per year for phys- iotherapist, certified athletic therapist, podiatrist, massage therapist, speech therapist, osteopath, psychologist, mar- riage therapist, family thera- pist, dietician and nutritionist, acupuncture. Sick leave: 24 hours per year. Unused time will not be paid out or banked to next year. LTD: Employee pays 100% of premiums (maximum $64.78 per month) for coverage of 60% of gross earnings, maximum of $2,500 per month. Coverage terminated 119 days before 65th birthday. AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $15,000. Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $15,000. Bereavement leave: 3 days for death of immediate, extended family member, close relative, any person who is not related to employee but employee considers to be like close rela- tive. Seniority – recall rights: 90 days for employee promoted to any position outside bar- gaining unit; 12 months after layoff. Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours of pay; minimum 3 hours of pay at overtime rates for employees called-in after working day is completed. Probationary period: 3 months, excluding periods of absence from work that ex- ceeds 7 consecutive days. Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for disciplinary records Safety shoes: $100 for purchase of CSA- approved footwear if required at site.
