Paid holidays: 13 days. Vacations with pay: Five- sixths of 1 working day for each calendar month's service after 6 months, 10 days after 1 year, 15 days after 3 years, 20 days after 10 years, 25 days after 19 years, 26 days after 20 years, 27 days after 21 years, 28 days after 22 years, 29 days after 23 years, 30 days after 24 years. Overtime: Double time for all hours worked in excess of regular daily hours in 1 day or weekly hours in 1 week; double time for all hours worked on regularly scheduled day off or on statutory holiday. Can be taken as lieu time at time and one-half with permission of department head. Maximum 2 weeks of lieu time can be carried over into following year. Meal allowance: $10 for employees required to work 9 hours or more. Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for Ontario Health Insurance Plan. Dental: Employer pays full cost of Green Shield Dental Plan 15. Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums for Green Shield Vision Care Plan ($450 every 24 months plus 1 eye exam every 12 months). Paramedical: Employer pays 100% of premiums for Green Shield Supplemental Plan, Green Shield Number 3 Prescription Plan, and Green Shield Extended Health Benefits Plan T4. Massage therapy, chiropractic maximum $800 per year. Physiotherapy maximum $1,000 per year. LTD: Employees pay premiums for long-term salary-wage continuance plan: full pay up to 105 calendar days and 66 2/3 of salary after 105th day of illness until age 65 or illness ends. Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for group life insurance (2 times employee salary up to $200,000 (previously $170,000). Pension: University of Windsor Employees' Retirement Plan provides 2% of average annual gross salary during employee's 60 highest consecutive months multiplied by years of credited service. Employees contribute 6% of gross wages and employer contributes additional amount necessary to reach benefit level. Bereavement leave: 5 paid days for death of legal or common-law spouse, child, stepchild, parent, child in legal guardianship. 3 paid days for death of sibling, parent-in-law, stepparent, grandchild, grand- parent, grandparent-in-law. Additional 3 paid days between date of death and date of burial for employee who has sole responsibility of making funeral arrangements for grandparents or legal spouse. Seniority – recall rights: 2 years from effective date of layoff unless employee was recalled from initial layoff for period in excess of 6 months. Probationary period: 60 working days within consecu- tive 8-month period. May be extended additional 30 days with written notice. Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months for letters of reprimand. Severance: 8 weeks' notice for permanent layoff; 5 days' notice for temporary layoff of 29 or fewer days; 30 days' notice for temporary layoff of 30 or more days. Safety shoes: $255 per year for 1 pair of safety boots or shoes (previously $225 per year). Uniforms/clothing: Employer provides laboratory coats, safety glasses and aprons where necessary. Rainwear and rubber boots available for employees in faculty of human kinetics, centre for teaching and learning, and help desk in IT Services. 3 uniforms, coveralls, safety rubber boots, rainwear and gloves when necessary for trades positions in maintenance department. Employer will provide each person employed as plumber, carpenter, mason, painter, electrician with suitable winter and suitable spring jackets every 2 years. Sample rates of hourly pay (current): Class 9: $56.47 Class 8: $52.97 Class 7: $50.02 Class 6: $44.88 Class 5: $41.23 Class 4: $37.32 Class 3: $33.08 Class 2: $30.04 Class 1: $27.44 Painter: $33.39 Electrician: $38.05 Plumber: $39.08 Mason: $38.21 Carpenter: $36.45 Lead-hand tradesperson: Trade rate + $1.75 per hour Editor's notes: Prepaid leave plan: Employees with 3 years' seniority have opportunity to take leave of absence between 6 months and 1 year through deferral of wages. Annual long-service pay: $50 after 5 years; $100 after 10 years; $150 after 15 years; $200 after 20 years. Educational leave: Employer will reimburse employee granted educational leave of absence maximum $500 for required books or texts. Audio hearing tests: Maximum $75 over 5 years; hearing aid coverage at $2,250 every 5 years.
