COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS MEALS SERVICES Sodexo Canada Calgary (333 housekeepers) and the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), Local 4822 (Peter Lougheed Centre, Rockyview General Hospital, Central Pharmacy) Renewal agreement: Effective Nov. 1, 2020 to April 30, 2022. Ratified on March 6, 2021 . Signed on April 6, 2020. Wage adjustments: Effective date, month and year: % Shift premium: $1.50 per hour worked between 3 p.m. and 7 a.m. $1.50 per hour worked between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. on Saturday or Sunday. $2 per hour for work between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. on Saturday or Sunday. $1.75 per hour for lead-hands (weekday). $1.50 per hour for project workers. $1.50 per hour for store atten- dants. $1.50 per hour for waste workers. $2.25 per hour for lead-hands (weekend). $0.75 per hour for trainers. $1.50 per hour for work between Monday and Friday 3 p.m. to 7 a.m. Paid holidays: 11 days. Vacations with pay: 10 days or 4% to start, 15 days or 6% after 4 years, 20 days or 8% after 8 years, 25 days or 10% after 20 years. If employer cancels employee's scheduled vacation, employee will be entitled to carry over 5 vacation days into following vacation year. Overtime: Time and one-half for work after 7.25 or 7.75 hours per day or 72.5 or 77.5 hours per week. Overtime will be paid to employee for any hours worked during normal rest periods (at least 8 hours rest between sched- uled shifts). Medical benefits: Employer pays 60% of premiums, employee pays 40% of premiums. Dental: Coverage of 80%, maximum $750 per person, per year. Vision: Coverage of $50 per person every 24 months for glasses, contact lenses, laser eye surgery. Eye examinations for dependent children younger than 21: 1 every 12 months; 1 every 24 months all others. Paramedical: Employer pays 60% of premiums, employee pays 40% of premiums. $500 each year for psychologists; $400 each year for bundled chiropractors, massages; unlimited for physiotherapy. Sick leave: 11 days per year for full-time employees; 5 days per year for part-time employees. Maximum credits of 20 days for full-time employees; 9 days for part-time employees. LTD: Employer pays 60% of premiums, employee pays 40% of premiums. Life insurance: Employer pays 60% of premiums, employee pays 40% of premiums. Pension: Employer will contribute $0.15 per regular hour worked on behalf of all non-probationary, full-time, part-time employees, to RRSP (amount will be matched by employee). Participation in plan will be voluntary on part of employee. Bereavement leave: 4 days for death of spouse (including common-law), parent (mother/ father), child, stepchildren, stepparents, mother-in-law, son-in-law, father-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, daughter-in-law, sister, brother, guardian, grandparent (both sides), grandchild, fiancé, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew. 1 day off, with no pay, for death of another relative or close friend. Leave will be extended, without pay, if travel in excess of 300 kilometres from employee's residence is necessary. Seniority – recall rights: 180 days after layoffs. 24 months from last day of sick leave or 24 months from first day of LTD entitlement, whichever is greater, for employee who is not capable of returning to work. 180 days after layoffs. Call-in pay: Minimum 3 hours of pay at overtime rates. Probationary period: 3 months. Discipline: Sunset clause is 12 months for discipline warnings for poor conduct, unsatisfac- tory job performance, infrac- tions of employer's rules, regu- lations and policies. Safety shoes: Employer will reimburse employees for safety shoes, $100 every 24 months, for waste, floor-care, store attendant, project workers. Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide 4 uniforms for each full-time employee; 2 uniforms for each part-time employee and replace (due to normal wear and tear), without charge, uniforms which employer requires employee to wear. Sample rates of hourly pay (current): Housekeeper Probation rate: $15.27 Step 1: $16.37 Step 2: $16.76 Step 3: $17.13 Step 4: $17.51 Step 5: $17.85 Step 6: $18.30 Wage bonus: $250 to all full- time employees on first pay date after April 1, 2021. One-half hour of credited flight time for each hour of training or 4 hours of credited flight time, whichever is greater, for recur- rent ground training. One-half hour of credited flight time for each hour of training for online training courses. $25 per day for trainers. Paid holidays: 10 days. Vacations with pay: 10 days or 4% to start, 15 days or 6% after 3 years, 20 days or 8% after 8 years, 25 days or 10% after 15 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for hours worked greater than 85 hours in 1 block.
