7 a.m. Monday through Fri- day; after 4:30 p.m. and before 8:30 a.m. Saturday, but not for absence from work by reason of illness. $1 per hour for all regular hours worked between midnight Friday and midnight Sunday, but not for absence from work by reason of illness. Paid holidays: 11 days plus 1 lieu day. One-half working day preceding Christmas Day and one-half working day preced- ing New Year's Day will consti- tute additional paid holiday. Vacations with pay: 2 weeks after 1 year, 3 weeks after 2 years, 4 weeks after 8 years, 5 weeks after 15 years, 6 weeks after 24 years. Maximum 5 days may be carried over be- yond 12-month period into next year. Overtime: Time and one- half for work outside normal work day or shift or outside 35 hours in any work week (Monday to Saturday), but not both. Double time for work on Sunday or on holiday. May be taken as time off maximum of 5 days to be used by calendar yearend. Any time off in lieu of cash payment accumulated in December will be paid out by calendar yearend unless employee requests for it to be carried over, in which case time off in lieu must be used by March 31 of following year or it will be paid out at that time. Meal allowance: $14 after 2 hours of overtime consecutive to normal workday or shift or minimum of 3.5 hours cumu- lative overtime in 1 day either immediately following normal work day or shift or following 2-hour interval outside normal work day or shift or minimum of 3.5 hours of overtime on regular day off. Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums for Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP). Employer pays 100% of premiums for Manulife extended health care benefits plan. Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums for Manulife den- tal plan 9. Coverage of 50/50 coinsurance for orthodontics maximum lifetime benefit of $2,500. Coverage of 50/50 coinsurance for major restor- ative. Vision: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of $350 every 24 months. 1 eye exam every 24 months, maximum $90 per exam. Paramedical: $1,500 per year total for chiropractic, osteo- path, naturopath, podiatrist, physiotherapist, speech pa- thologist, masseur, chiropo- dist, social worker, psycholo- gist. Sick leave: 1 day per month, maximum 85 days of accumu- lation. STD: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 70% of weekly gross pay, maximum $800 per week. AD&D: Employer pays 100% of premiums for coverage of 2.5 times employee's salary, maximum $125,000. Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums for cover- age of 2.5 times employee's sal- ary, maximum $100,000. Pension: Ontario Municipal Employee's Retirement System (OMERS)> Bereavement leave: 5 days for death in immediate fam- ily (spouse, child, stepchild, mother, stepmother, father, stepfather, sister, brother, step- sister, stepbrother). 3 days for death of mother-in-law, father- in-law, grandmother, grand- father, grandchild. 1 day for death of uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews nieces, sisters-in- law, brothers-in-law, spouse's grandparents, spouse's aunt, spouse's uncle. May be ex- tended additional 2 days where special circumstances arise. In case of death of child or stepchild, time limits may be extended by up to 10 days. Seniority – recall rights: 24 months for employee trans- ferred out of bargaining unit; 12 months for employee who is selected or appointed to full- time position with union or after layoffs. Call-in pay: Minimum of 3 hours at applicable premium rate or actual time worked at applicable premium rate, whichever is greater. Probationary period: 65 days (which may be extended by mutual agreement). Safety shoes: Employer will supply safety shoes and safety boots (leather bush or ther- mal) once every 12 months. Uniforms/clothing: Summer clothing will be issued on or before first day of May and winter clothing on or before first day of October. Mileage: Mileage allowance in accordance with corporate policy in place from time to time or $0.40 per kilometre, whichever is greater, for em- ployees who use own cars on city business. $100 per year, on pro-rata basis per month, to employees who carry heavy, dirty, bulky equipment in personal automobiles while engaged in employer's busi- ness.
