Editor's notes: Part-time availability: Regular part-time employees must be available to work at least 4 shifts per pay pe- riod, 1 weekend per pay period, either Christmas Day or New Year's Day, 4 recognized holidays during year, 10 months of year including December and total of 4 weeks during July and August. Influenza vaccination: When medical officer of health or public health department has declared influenza outbreak, employees who haven't received annual vaccination will be excluded from work until they receive it. Employees who refuse vaccination will be reassigned or placed on unpaid leave. Banked lieu time or vacation time can be used. Pay for training: When employer requires employee to take further training, employer will pay full cost of required courses. Hearing aids: $300 maximum lifetime coverage. Overtime: Time and one-half for first 2 hours after 8 hours per day; double time after 10 hours per day. Time and one- half for first 8 hours after 35 hours per week; double time after 43 hours in 1 week. Time and one-half for first 3 hours after 8 hours per day; double time after 11 hours per day. Time and one-half for first 8 hours after 40 hours per week; double time after 48 hours in 1 week. Time and one-half for first 3 hours after 7.5 hours per day; double time after 10.5 hours per day. Time and one- half for first 7.5 hours after 37.5 hours per week; double time after 45 hours in 1 week (all overtime rules depending on type of shift). Double time for work on Sunday. Time may be banked, must be used with start and end date of appoint- ment for less than 12-month continuing employees; within calendar year for 12-month continuing employees (hours banked with 30 days from end of year will be carried over into following year). Medical benefits: Medical Services Plan of B.C. and Pub- lic Education Benefits Trust (PEBT). Employer pays 90% of premiums, employee pays 10% of premiums. Dental: Coverage of 80% for preventive (oral exams, X-rays, fluoride); restorative (restora- tions, oral surgery, extrac- tions, periodontal treatment, endodontic treatment); 60% for major restorative (crowns, inlays, replacement of crowns after 12 months, bridgework, dentures, periodontal surgery). 50% of cost, lifetime maximum $1,500 per family member for orthodontia. Vision: $200 each 24-month period. Sick leave: 1.5 days per month, maximum 120 days. LTD: Coverage of 66.67% of monthly earnings, after 120 calendar days. Life insurance: Coverage of 1.5 times annual earnings, minimum $15,000, maximum $150,000. Pension: B.C.'s Municipal Pen- sion Plan. Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in family (parent, spouse, child, brother, sister, grandparent, grandchild, daughter-in-law, son-in law, any person who lives with employee as member of em- ployee's family, father-in-law, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, stepfamily). Additional 2 days for death of spouse, children, parents. 1 day to attend funeral as pall- bearer. Seniority – recall rights: 6 months for employees with less than 18 months of senior- ity; 12 months for employees with 18 months of seniority; 18 months for employees with 3 years of seniority; 24 months for employees with more than 7 years of senior- ity. 6 months when employee occupies non-bargaining unit position. Call-in pay: Minimum of 2 hours of pay at 2 times regular hourly rate of pay. Probationary period: 60 working days (actual time worked exclusive of absence). Bus drivers', custodians' pro- bation will be served only between first and last days of school year. Discipline: Sunset clause is 24 months for letters of discipline, other than for incidents involv- ing abuse. Severance: 5% of 1 year's salary for each year of service, maxi- mum 2 years' salary. Uniforms/clothing: Machin- ists, mechanics, painters, employees required to clean boilers or live sewage lines will be supplied with coveralls. Employees required to perform duties that could contaminate clothing with hazardous mate- rials will be supplied with ap- propriate safety apparel. Mileage: $0.05 per kilometre to employees using vehicles to transport materials and equipment — other than tools required for normal trade func- tions — which may possibly re- sult in additional wear and tear on employee's vehicle.
