Compassionate leave: Up to 5 paid days in the case of illness or death in the employee's immediate family. Personal leave: Up to 3 paid days per year to attend to urgent needs. Tuition waiver: Employees and, with the employee's written permission, an em- ployee's dependant child and spouse are eligible for a tuition waiver equal to the tuition fees charged for undergradu- ate and graduate courses taken at Wilfrid Laurier University and at the Waterloo Lutheran Seminary, with the excep- tion of any executive-style MBA program and any executive-style graduate degree programs. Wage adjustments: Effective 2017: 35¢ Effective 2018: 35¢ Effective 2019: 35¢ Shift premium: $50 per shift when employee is training a new driver. Paid holidays: 9 holidays. 1 floating holiday after 4 years of service. 2 floating holidays for employees hired prior to Feb. 18, 2006. Vacations with pay: 2 weeks to start, 3 weeks after 6 years and 4 weeks after 13 years. For employees hired before Feb. 18, 2006: 2 weeks to start, 3 weeks after 6 years, 4 weeks after 11 years, 5 weeks after 19 years and 6 weeks after 26 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for all hours worked beyond 9 hours per day or 45 hours per week. Time and one-half for all hours worked after 8 a.m. Sat- urday, prior to 6 p.m. Sunday and on a paid holiday. Meal allowance: $18 each time employees are required to sleep away while travelling. Pension: Employer con- tributes $350 per month per employee to the Teamsters and Participating Employer of Ontario Pension Plan Bereavement leave: 3 days for employee's father, mother, spouse, common-law spouse, son, daughter, brother, sister, grandparent, grandchild, step- parent, father-in-law, moth- er-in-law, brother-in-law or sister-in-law. Seniority – recall rights: 2 years. Call-in pay: Minimum 9 hours' pay. Probationary period: 60 cal- endar days. Safety shoes: 1 pair per year to a maximum of $100. Uniforms/clothing: Uniforms provided by the employer when necessary. Employer provides all necessary safety equipment, including rubber clothing, goggles, etc. Employ- er provides 1 pair of prescrip- tion safety glasses when the employee is required to wear them and each time the pre- scription is changed by more than 1 full dioptre. Sample rates of pay, current: Regular company driver: $20.30 per hour U.S.-qualified driver: $20.80 Loaded or empty: 46.5 cents per mile Loading and unloading for tandem and tri-axle tank trail- ers: $35 per stop Loading and unloading for quad and above tank trailers: $40 per stop Van loads: $30 per stop Flatbed loading (untarped): $35 per stop Flatbed loading (tarped): $50 per stop Border crossing (loaded): $20 per crossing Editor's notes: Union initiation fee: Union initiation fee is deducted from the employee's salary in instalments of $25 per week after completion of the probationary period. This deduction continues until the fee is paid in full. Voting: Employees will be given time off to vote in federal, provincial or municipal elections. Passengers: No passengers will be permitted except employees of the company. This does not prevent employees from providing aid to drivers bro- ken down on the highway. Wage adjustments: Effective July 1, 2014: $1,350 lump sum payment Effective July 1, 2015: 2.25% Effective July 1, 2016: 2.5% Shift premium: $1.10 per hour when the majority of a shift is worked between 4 p.m. and 8 a.m. $1.10 for hours worked between midnight on Friday and midnight on Sat- urday. Paid holidays: 13 days, in- cluding 1 floater. Vacations with pay: 1.25 days per month to start, 3 weeks af- ter 1 year, 4 weeks after 5 years, 5 weeks after 12 years, 6 weeks after 20 years, 7 weeks after 30 years. Overtime: Time and one-half for the first 2 hours in excess of 8 per day, double time for all hours worked after that. Time and one-half on the first scheduled day of rest, double time on the second day. Dental: $1,000 per year for ba- sic services, $2,000 per year for major services, $2,000 lifetime maximum for orthodontics. Vision: $200 every 2 years for adults, $200 every year for children under 18. Sick leave: 1 day earned per month. LTD: 60% of salary plus COLA, up to $5,000 per month. Life insurance: 2 times annual salary. Pension: Local Authorities Pension Plan. Bereavement leave: 4 days for the death of an immediate family member. That includes an employee's or employee's spouse's parents, guardians, parent-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, son, daughter, brother, sister, or the husband or wife of any of them. Seniority – recall rights: 6 months. Call-in pay: Time and one- half for the first 2 hours, dou- ble time for all hours worked after that. Time and one-half for first 8 hours of call-back on a named holiday, double time after that. Minimum 3 hours' pay at straight time if employ- ee works less than 2 hours.
