(230 administrative, technicians, maintenance, IT employees) and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Local 339 Renewal agreement: Effect- ive April 1, 2017, to March 31, 2021. Signed on March 30, 2017. Wage adjustments: Effective April 1, 2017: 1.75% Effective April 1, 2018: 1.75% Effective April 1, 2019: 1.75% Effective April 1, 2020: 1.75% Shift premium: $3 when scheduled to work Saturday as regular shift and $10 when scheduled to work Sunday as regular shift for employees hired prior to April 6, 2010. $1 per hour for regular hours worked between 4 p.m. and 8 a.m. from Monday to Friday and all regular hours worked on Saturday and Sunday. $1 per hour will be paid for afternoon shift for technology centre operations. Paid holidays: 13 days. Vacations with pay: 2 weeks af- ter 1 year, 3 weeks after 3 years, 4 weeks after 8 years, 5 weeks after 16 years, 5 weeks plus 1 day for each year of service be- yond 16 years. Overtime: Double time for employees hired prior to April 6, 2010, time and one- half for employees hired after April 6, 2010. May be banked, maximum 5 days per year. Any banked time will be paid out April 30 each year. Meal allowance: Maximum $10 when employee works more than 2 hours beyond normal shift and every 5 hours thereafter. Medical benefits: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Dental: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Vision: $200 per person every 2 years, (employee, spouse, de- pendent children). Paramedical: $300 total for chiropractic coverage, massage therapy. Sick leave: 6 non-cumulative days per year. STD: 70% of pay from first day of accident or hospitalization and third day of illness, max- imum 15 weeks. LTD: 75% of pay, inclusive of any Workplace Safety and In- surance Board pay and Canada Pension Plan disability benefit (exclusive of dependent bene- fits). Life insurance: Employer pays 100% of premiums. Pension: Every full-time em- ployee, as condition of employ- ment, will join Ontario Muni- cipal Employees Retirement System. Bereavement leave: 5 days for death of mother, father, spouse (including common-law), chil- dren, stepmother, stepfather, stepchildren. 3 days for death of common-law spouse's father or mother, brother, sister, spouse of an employee's father-in-law or mother-in-law (includ- ing common-law spouse), grandparents, grandchildren, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, stepbrother, stepsister, step- grandparents, stepgrandchild, any relative of employee who resides in employee's house- hold. 2 additional days for travelling outside District of Thunder Bay. 1 day's leave, maximum twice per year, to act as pallbearer or to perform offi- cial function. Seniority – recall rights: 12 months. Call-in pay: Minimum of 2 hours' pay at prevailing rate applicable at time of call-in. Probationary period: 9 months for full-time. For part- time employees, 9-month period will be equivalent to 9 months of full-time hours. Safety shoes: $65 or 75% of cost of shoes, whichever is greater, to be replaced twice per year (once for summer, once for winter) for green-patch safety shoes. $80 or 75% of cost of shoes, whichever is greater, to be replaced twice per year (once for summer, once for winter) for safety boots. $40 or 75% of cost of shoes, whichever is greater, to be replaced twice per year (once for summer, once for win- ter) for overshoes. Uniforms/clothing: Employer will supply safety belts, straps, rubber boots, coats and rubber gloves to each employee when necessary, as well as neces- sary safety glasses, protection shields and rubber mats for covering live wires. Employer will provide spurs, straps, pads, overalls, appropriate gloves (with liner if required) to em- ployees whose normal duties require use of such equipment. Employees who are required to work outside between Nov. 1 and March 31 will be provided with 1 pair of insulated cover- alls. Tool allowance: 1-time issu- ance of personal tools, max- imum $100, for installation repair technician 2. $200 for vehicle mechanics to purchase personal tools required for job. Employer will provide transportation costs home every 3 weeks; 3 long-distance calls of 10 minutes each time per week.
