COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS COLLECTIVE AGREEMENTS Bereavement leave: 3 days for death in immediate fam- ily; 6 days if attending funeral (spouse (including common- law), mother, father, sister, brother, stepfather, stepmother, stepsibling, foster-parent, grandparent, grandchild, aunt, uncle, spouse, son, daughter, stepchild, ward of employee, mother-in-law, father-in-law, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, any relative residing in employ- ee's household). Seniority – recall rights: 12 months after layoffs. Probationary period: 6 months. Discipline: Sunset clause is 2 years for discipline of em- ployee. Safety shoes: $175 per year. Uniforms/clothing: Employer will provide and pay for all pro- tective devices, clothing, other equipment necessary to protect employees from injury and un- healthy conditions. Employer will undertake proper cleaning and maintenance of all safety equipment, devices, clothing at no cost to employees. Public works employees (including landfill/recycling) will receive overalls (winter/summer) every 2 years, winter safety rubber boots, hard hats, safety rubber gloves, gloves, multi-season coat every 2 years. Travel time: After 1 year of service, employee will be given 3 days' travel time once per year. Maximum of 3 days of travel time may be carried over to next fiscal year. Flight allowance: $2,242 per year (previously $2,000 per year) on each anniversary of employment. Health and wellness leave: Additional 1 day per fiscal year for personal wellness leave. Unused days will not be carried forward to next year or paid out at end of year. Standby pay: 1 hour's pay at straight-time for standby subsequent to regular work day; 1 hour's pay at time and one-half for standby on day of rest or general holiday. First aid: Employees who are required to attend first aid and safety training courses will be given leave with pay for training. Em- ployer will pay for course fees and tuition. Personal cellphones: Employees who use personal cellphones (instead of phones provided by employer) for employer business will be provided with $35 per month to defray costs. BUS TRANSPORTATION First Canada O/A First Student Canada Airdrie, Alta. (165 drivers, mechanics) and Teamsters, Local 362 Renewal agreement: Effective Sept. 9, 2019 to Aug. 31, 2022. Signed on Oct. 23, 2019. Shift premium: $5.40 per hour rising 2 steps to $5.62 per hour for lead drivers. additional $0.22 per kilometre for all kilo- metres that are driven greater than 100 kilometres per HTS route. $1 per hour for TIC pre- mium. $0.52 per hour for lead- hands. $3 per hour for any shift that begins after 5:59 p.m. and before 2:59 a.m. Paid holidays: 10 days. Vacations with pay: 2 weeks or 4% after 1 year, 3 weeks or 6% after 3 years, 4 weeks or 8% after 8 years. 5 weeks or 10% for grandfathered employees eligible for 5 weeks of vacation. Overtime: Time and one-half for work after 8 hours per day. Time may be banked, maxi- mum 40 straight-time hours per year. All banked overtime earned as of Dec. 31 each year must be taken between April 1 and Aug. 14 inclusive of fol- lowing year. Any accumulated banked overtime from prior year not taken by Aug. 14 will be paid out to employee. Sick leave: 2 days per year for mechanics with no carryover year to year. Pension: Employer will match 50% of employee contribution (maximum 3%) for employees who contribute minimum 6% to RRSP program for mainte- nance only. Bereavement leave: 3 days for each occasion, to be taken within 7 days of death, for death in immediate family (spouse, parents, sisters, broth- ers, children, grandparents, grandchildren). 2 additional days if employee needs to travel 300 kilometres or more. Seniority – recall rights: 12 months when employee is on layoff. 90 calendar days when employee receives leave of ab- sence to take position within company or union which is be- yond sphere of bargaining unit (should employees return or be returned to bargaining unit for any reason, employees must remain unit for minimum 180 calendar days before exercising privilege again). Call-in pay: Minimum of 3 hours of pay for maintenance shop employees. Probationary period: First 60 work days of employment. Discipline: Sunset clause is 18 months for disciplinary letters/ reprimands taken against em- ployee. 2 years of collision-free driving for documents relating to preventable collisions. Safety shoes: $165 per year, to be paid in August of each year. Uniforms/clothing: Em- ployer will provide all licensed mechanics and apprentice mechanics, on exchange and as-required basis, with 1 winter coat. Maintenance employees will be provided with clean hi- vis coveralls on basis of 5 per week for licensed mechanics and apprentice mechanics and 3 per week for service person and appropriate rain wear for wash-bay employees. For sum- mer months, Cardinal Coach Lines will supply mechanics work pants, button-up shirts (light colour not dark blue). Employer will supply gloves, dust masks, non-prescribed safety glasses, hard hats where required and hearing protec- tion (muffs or ear buds). Em- ployer will supply, as required, reflective winter coats, pants, coveralls for all maintenance employees.
